Only thing that annoys me about the predictions is those clowns predicting Liverlol will finish above us this season, fuck me they finished about 47th last season, yet they will all of a sudden finish above us and are still picked above us due to a suarez filled freak season ? Comedy gold right there.
I think Liverpool have a better chance of finishing above us than Chelsea to be honest

The problem is we're buying backup players, other teams are buying people to go into their first team.
First team was never the issue with us last season though, it was almost unstoppable at times. Our problem had always been when players were missing. We looked pathetic when Dembele was out of the team for instance.

With the amount of funds we have we can't improve much on our first eleven really apart from Walker maybe, so strengthening our depth is a more cost effective way of improving.

Our first team have shown they're good enough to challenge for the title, despite being the youngest in the league. What we needed was a little more depth in key areas and some more maturity, one of which comes with experience, the other which we've acted to sort out.

My concern is playing a full strength squad in the CL and the same squad playing the PL games before and after. We couldn't handle the EL with pretty much the same squad, yet our expectations are to do it in the CL against higher caliber opposition.
As much as we dislike the EL, we needed to use it as training for CL fixtures which IMO we did not do so.

The CL will be easier than EL is what I believe.

Don't care who is or isn't tipping us, they are all mugs anyway. I fully expect us to be top 4 and closer in points to 1st than 5th.

Adding Kante was massive to them, if he can make Morgan and Huth look good imagine what he will do for Terry. Also no way Hazard will have another season like the last.

Really do not understand what the fuck people are on about

In my head we are favourites and we will win it. We were the best team in the league last year, although a little inconsistent mixed with a meltdown at the end saw us finish 3rd.

As the season went on we got stronger and stronger, I expect all out players to be better this season. We have cover for the positions we didn't last season. City Chelsea and Utd have new managers and have a lot of new players. I dont care how amazing the managers are it will takree time. Leicester will not repeat what they did last season, which leaves are only contender Arsenal, who always fluff it.

PREDICTION - 1st, numero uno, head honchos, big cheese. Top 4,is for losers, let's win the sodding thing, this is the best chance we will have for a long time!

Last year was the best chance to have won it imo and when we tonked stoke away with about five games to go i thought we might win it, and for my sins i didnt think we would wilt like we did.
However this year is different and with the normal top four barring arsenal seemingly getting their shit together it will be harder again imo, but saying that we should try to match them game for game and see how high we finish.

Absolutely. Sick of the Liverpool bias on Sky for a start, along with Henry and the Arsenal pricks on Soccer Saturday.

The only thing that keeps me going is the return of Gary Neville. He's honest and knows what he's talking about. Equally, Carragher is enjoyable to listen to but still a scouser at heart.

I think we are the best team, maybe not the best squad, and that counts for a hell of a lot. We will be up there again, I'm sure of it. We might not win it but we will challenge.

Neville's good but now Man U have flashed the cash he's become a fanboy. Easy to seem balanced when Man U are shit

I agree. I fancy us, though. We have a settled side that knows each other, even if Wanyama will be in for Dembele from the start I expect. We need to hit the ground running as it will take some of the other teams a few games to get going. Got to get points on the board early as we, and Poch's teams in general, do seem to fade.

All depends on if the kids click, though, as the squad still doesn't seem over-stocked in key areas with proven performers. Lots of potential, lots to spark interest, incredibly uncertain – should be a fun season.

I think we can win the league. Everyone is vastly underestimating the amount of time Man United, Chelsea, and in particular Man City, will take getting used to new managers and styles of play. It's all well and good spending loads of cash, but the £250M United spent under Van Gaal didn't exactly do wonders, to name but one example.

And for whatever reason, pundits and fans alike seem to buy into the idea that only big money signings can improve teams - bullshit. We were a totally different team in September to the one we were at our peak in April. We improved tenfold over the course of the season alone.

Our players will improve again, we've got cover in almost all positions, and if we stay relatively injury free, I think that'll be enough to push us over the line.

But starting the season without Dembele could be a costly blow. I hope I am wrong!

I think we're flying nicely under the radar.

Merson doesn't want to let Eric hear what he's saying..

I believe most people including me think we can or are capable of winning the leaque, but will we? I doubt it due to the factors and variables already given
