These are not helpful or appropriate responses. You two are sensible people. This is not a thread where it helps to dumb down or mock the discussion.
Just a little light hearted humour on a subject that has rumbled on for ages. The thread I created was back in 2019 and been discussed to death. I think its just as important not to be over sensitive on the topic.

And we can all predict that we'll hear 'we'll sing what we want..' next match then, as we did last time the club looked into the 'Y' word.

I used to sing the Y chant but now I cannot. For me, it’s not about being censored or caving in to other clubs as I hear in some comments here. For me, I see it as a racially pejorative term. I understand how/why we took it up etc but it’s still racially pejorative and we should let it go.

Much better to not pass this on to kids, too. I took two young lads to a match and one was Jewish. Thank goodness they both misheard and sang something different. I apologised to that lad’s parent.

I really think the whole Yid thing should stop. Its time is up. Our own chants are funnier, such as Kulu’s and then the ginger wigs. We are creative fans - we can make magic as well as the team.
