He'll be fine. I'd imagine we'll look to integrate him slowly up until Xmas and then he'll be a regular fixture.

As sinister as this might sound but we can't afford to have another Ledley King senario with Kaboul. If his not up to the required fitness due to knee injuries we should look quickly for replacements.

Tottenham are renowned for playing attacking football and so most of our supporters cry out for attacking and creative players, but looking back to last season our defence in terms of clean sheets and goals conceded from set plays was poor. We most have a sound foundation before we can ever think to challenge therefore we most address our weak defensive belly.

From the first, "delay" in his return this has smelled like the player and club delaying the inevitable to me. Very much hope I wrong but the days of Kabs being a weekly regular seem to be over.

if you're referring to retirement, you're jumping the gun a bit. a year out is a long time but it's not that long. plenty of players have had similar absences from football/other sport and have come back strong.

:D I know. I hope I'm wrong and just hand-wringing because of the Ledley sitch but there was a thread some time last season and I commented similarly. I was assured he'd be back for pre-season. Playing games etc. Back to his best. I'm not so sure. It would be just our frigging luck too. Kabs finally hits his stride and becomes the CB we all hoped and thought he could be and boom. Get's knackered.

I can't help but to think back to that wish I made for Kaboul to become our new King :(

IMO we should prepare the season as if we don't have Kaboul in the squad so we need enough cover to be ok. Any action Kaboul gets in the first team will be a bonus. For now he needs to slowly make his way back with behind closed door games, friendlies and maybe if he can get through those the odd Europa League or Carling Cup appearance.

No not retirement. Just not the Kabs we had before. I very much hope I'm just being slightly hormonal but I suppose I'm preparing myself for the worst and will pleasantly surprised if we do get the old Kabs back.

His injury after he first came back was to his calf.

Doesn't Kaboul have the same medical problem as Owen Hargreaves? If that is the case it is going to be tough for him to maintain his fitness over a protracted period.
