Wow. 5 more new players???

Think without bale... We may play more of a 4-5-1, trying to get a foothold in midfield. My line up for the first few matches

Walker Kaboul Dawson BAE
Lennon Pauli Dembele Sandro Sig
Saldado

Most likely Lennon and Sig support from wider areas, Dembele supporting in the middle.

Think Chadli will be used as an impact player in the 2nd half. Atleast for the first few matches.

Ofcourse things will change if transfers happen. Too early to tell.

Lloris (Friedel)
Walker (Naughton) Papadopoulos (Kaboul) Vertonghen (Dawson) Coentrao (Rose)
Sandro (Dembele) Paulinho (Dembele)
Holtby (Siggy)
Bernard (Townsend) Soldado (Adebayor) Chadli (Lennon)

In:
Bernard - 18m
Coentrao - 20m
Papadopoulos - 15m

Total spend: 53m

perhaps too radical? there would be 6 new players in that starting XI

If this is what it takes for me not to have a heart attack for 85 minutes watching lop sided going nowhere football until wonder ears pulls a 25 yd rocket out of the bag in the final minutes of each game then im happy.

Fitting our game around this kids burgeoning ego was a signifcant factor in Spurs not making 4th place last season. We lost our width and our strikers lost any hope of scoring from crosses on the left and and an injured lennon at the same time didnt help either from the right. Dont know why anyone doesnt see this.

Not entirely agreeing with you, but thats a legitimate point. I also felt that a lot of our dire stagnant football was down to letting bale do whatever he wanred. Not the sole reason but definitely a contributing factor. Still, there is no doubting he is our best player and we are worse off without him.

I tell you what, if we line up like that, without spending any of the Bale money and without a keeper, I'm done.

Methinks you perhaps go a littler overboard but there is definite merit in what you say StockSpur, there is a definite reballancing this summer so the outcome without Bale won't be a simple last year minus Bale equation.
If:))) the boy goes we will still have a team better prepared for the future.

For the record I'd go:-
Lloris
Walker Kaboul Vertonghen BAE
Paulinho Sandro Dembele
Lennon Soldado Chadli
That's what we've got at the moment if Coentrao comes in then fine for LB.
I like the look of that middle three though not too shabby at all.

I'd go with this at a push but the main focus if Bale goes must be Lamela - the kid is a barnstorming talent, and is very get-able I think. Baldini bought him from Argentina, Roma have no European football next season, we will have enough money. He's not exactly the same as Bale by any means but he'd be a worthy replacement and is only 21. He's a future superstar IMO and would be my number 1 priority. He'd offer a hell of a lot more than either the severely limited Lennon or Chadli who will probably take some time to settle and looked out of his depth on Saturday (which doesn't mean I don't rate him, just that he will need time).

I still think if Bale goes then Suarez would be our best bet at replacing him.

So we've sold Dempsey and Caulker for around 14 million. Also sell BAE (7 mil), Hudd (5m), Parker (4m), Defoe (8m), Livermore (3m), Gomes (3m), Naughton (4m) and I'm going to assume we get 90m+ Coentrao for Bale.

So that leaves us with £148 million + Coentrao. I'll say 43 million will be to put toward transfers we've already made, so we have 105m to spend.

We need -

1 CB - Alderweireld (8m)
2 WF - Suarez (50m), Nani (12m)
1 AM - Willian (35m)

So spent 105 million, plus the 50 million we've spent so far, would be 155 million, but since we brought in 148 million it's a net spend of only 7 million.

Lloris
Walker Kaboul Vertonghen Coentrao
Sandro
Paulinho Dembele
Suarez Soldado Willian
Friedel
Young RB Dawson Alderweireld Rose
Carroll
Holtby Sigurdsson
Townsend/Lennon Adebayor Nani/Chadli
I'm sure our squad will look nothing like that next season but I think it's a fair analysis. A player I think we would be stupid not to look at for the price is Nani, if he wants to leave United, he's a quality player in a position we need that we could get for a decent price imo. There's a lot though that we can do with the money we can get for Bale so it's difficult to make this 100% realistic, but I would be disappointed if weren't looking at players such as Suarez, Nani, Di Maria, Lamela, etc as replacements for Bale.
