Not sure it matters enough if it means taking a chance on his fitness with only four games to go.

Will be like a new signing in a different system.

Looking forward to finally having him back and him getting a run in our midfield.

What i found strange, was he was arguably one of the best modfielders I'm the premier league when we bought him, When we played against Brighton he bossed the midfield. Yet when we bought him, he 'wasn't ready' to play in our midfield. A midfield that was over run every game.

Was delighted when we signed him, I think he’s an excellent player, can’t understand the way Conte treated him.

He played in a CM 3 for Brighton, rather than a CM 2. It is a significantly different role and I think we'd get far more out of him if we play with three CMs next season.

While Bissouma had proven himself to be good in and out of possession for Brighton, he had more positional freedom in that team. In a CM 2, he ideally needs to be the more advanced player of the two, with a proper CDM (which we don't have!) in our squad.

I think he would have excelled in Dembele's role in the 4-2-3-1 we played under Poch, but wasn't the right player to slot straight into Conte's system. Wanyama / Dier in CDM gave Dembele a licence to roam and carry the ball in a not dissimilar fashion to what Bissouma did for Brighton against us. I suspect Bissouma was more of a "club signing" than a Conte signing, as we had been scouting him since before Conte's time.

I remain optimistic that Bissouma + Bentancur + a proper CDM could be a fantastic three-man midfield unit. However, if the new manager's system includes a proper CAM, I don't see which of our existing CMs would play the deeper defensive role (for me, all of our existing CMs would be vying for the one box-to-box / roaming spot)

He was the signing I was most excited about. Prem ready with the attributes our midfield was lacking.

Just have to hope it works out with a new manager.

But also played in a role that our midfield is lacking (due to the system, not the players).
