So talk of Harry and Levy's 'poor' relationship have started already, great....

Wouldn't hold my breath standing by the phone for the offers for Rose... Friends of mine watch Bristol City every week and were delighted when they sent him back to Spurs.

True. My Bristol City supporting mates thought he was terrible. Caulker on the other hand was worshipped like a god.

Yeah. Caulker on the other hand...

It would be criminal is a club-trained player was to be lost. We don't get many truly good players coming through. We need to keep and build the squad around these players. Might as well not have fucking bothered with the training ground otherwise.

Disagree, he has been good, not that good.

Whys that, ask a Swansea fan if has been good or half decent, they did struggle when he wasn't in the team this season due to injury and if it wasn't for Vorm's heroics they would of struggled to get clean sheet

They are genuinely afraid for the coming season with the welsh beckenbauer at the back, he played a big part in a team keeping 14 clean sheets despite the defence not having any prem experience

Rodgers said on goals on sunday he is a colossus talent and doesn't expect him to be back next season and harry said he had huge plans for him, he will play and I may even expect Verts to go Lb

Indeed Rose was shocking on the wing but he got moved to LB in one game and played brilliantly and got a mysterious injury, got recalled and was on the spurs bench the next week

Rose hasn't been good on the wing since his career threatening injury on his knee which left him out for a year, lucky to be back iirc

Don't forget most of our Youth products are trained up and loaned out to maximise sale value. Not saying that applies to Corky but the intention is that it provides additional streams of income via transfers

The problem here isn't Caulker. It's Redknapp. Let's just get that out in the open. This is a microcosm of H's cons. Caulker is a very talented 20 yr old CB. He's club-trained and shown just as much at his age than RSol and Ledley did - maybe even more. He should be back in the squad next season and seen as a vaulable player who would be looking at about 20-25 first team games as a starter.

I can understand why people are concerned that this won't happen but that these concerns exist and are based on reasonable observations is the problem here. Not Caulker's talents.

Really good post.

It is really hard to find a 20 year old CB who has played 26 league games this season, and that was with a knee injury that kept him out for 3 months. SO he would have played all 38 otherwise.

The 10 games he missed through injury they won won 3.

Also they conceded 51 goals last season which was the same as Newcastle who finished 5th and their defence received a lot of praise.

IMO next season the CB should be: Kaboul, Vertonghen, Caulker, Dawson

If we sold Caulker it would be beyond belief as he's home grown, only 20, and had an excellent PL season

Lot of ITK today and pretty much all good - even the bad was only a suspicion that Modric wanted out to RM, balanced by us getting in good replacements.

So far in the 'pending arrival' tray we have Vertinghen, Remy, Ade, maybe Leandro, and Lores - 2 or 3 strikers, a CB and goalkeeper - plus one or two others.

Anyone else worried ? Usually I'd think myself lucky to get more than one of them - and there is still another 2 months + of the TW to go ! :eek:

TBH Jones hasn't even done that and he got sold for £18million or so

Harry out, Brendan Rogers in
Vertonghen
Adebayor
Remy
Lloris

All semi-reasonable. Get it done, Levy, and it'll be fappy days at the Lane once more.

I have friends connected to both Yeovil and Bristol City, and they can't speak highly enough of Caulker as a player and a person. Very popular at Yeovil, where he won all four player of the year awards, and had the decency to travel back to Somerset to watch a game there after his loan had finished. City would have loved to have kept him for another year, before Swansea came in, and I think he was pretty much their best player in the season he spent there, too. I don't want to get into the whole debate about what we do with him now, but I think it's time he was part of our squad personally.
