good news if it comes off. i don't reckon we need anything 'groundbreaking or sexy'. we finished 4th, afterall. remy, vertonghen, and adebayor on a permanent would be a great bit of summer business. if modric must go, send him abroad and get sahin or the funds necessary to get another player his style. we'll certainly miss him, but that's what happens when you miss out on champs league. if he's the biggest loss and we get the 3 mentioned +1 in, i reckon we're improved from a year ago.

Dont want Remy but would take Adebayor back and would LOVE Lloris but doubt Lyon will sell him. Hope Jan joins but not bothered about Dembele (would rather Hoilett on a free and for cover)

I've been told Besiktas are interested in signing Bassong. (Please let this be true). They will offer Manuel Fernandes in exchange.

Bassong was approached last January and was happy to leave Spurs. However it was left too late for a deal to go through so ended up going out on loan.

My source is a journalist for a turkish newspaper. Just passing on what i've been told.

Would be good if we got £4m+ for Bassong, wouldn't want any of there players however.

I agree... Sometimes i do question the scouts at Tottenham. How did they ever come to the conclusion Bassong would be good enough. As soon as he went on Loan to Wolves, i remember saying they're doomed! few months later they're relegated! :LOL:

£4m + would be amazing. As for players in exchange, i wouldn't mind Manuel Fernandes but not sure if he's good enough for the Prem. Similar style of player to Dembele.

To be fair he was excellent... I don't think they had the money to keep him. Obviously ended up in Turkey earning stupid amounts of money.

Fernandes and Besiktas mutually terminated his contract two days ago because the club couldn't pay his wages. On that basis I doubt that Besiktas could afford Bassong.

Really? So he's a free transfer? If Besiktas pay wages for Quresma i'm sure they would afford Bassong!

They might be able to pay Quaresma's wages, but that might make up the bulk of their wage budget...

Also Bassong would have to question the ability of Besiktas to fulfill their contractual agreement if they have just released a player after failing to pay his wages.

I think failing to pay his wages is probably more down to personal problems with the players. I doubt very much it's anything to do with wage budget etc etc.

They have a few portuguese lads there on silly money.

Where does it say he's been released? I think he'd be an excellent signing on a free!

It's all over twitter, I tried to find a news article but I guess it wasn't deemed newsworthy by the English press.

My mistake I think. Thought Gelson Fernandes was the Everton one, but Wikied him and he's the Man City one. My bad.
