Were one of the traditional big 5 SP, that little elite club has long gone........and whilst i agree he has pressure he has the get out card of Everton have no money, and he is working wonders on his small budget, that in itself relieves the pressure somewhat, i think he will get a shock coming to somewhere like the Lane where 4th ,5th, 4th and CL qt final is deemed failure and sackable by alot of our deluded fans.

No, I said it right - they ARE one of the traditional Big Five. The traditional Big Five aren't all thriving ATM, and there is a new Big Four, which we, another of the traaditional Big Five are trying to force our way into (with varying success). That is different to saying Everton are one of the Big Four, they aren't...they remain one of the Traditional Big Five. Did I stutter :)

Anyway, I disagree with you - I think he has been under tremendous pressure - just look at those bags under his eyes ;)

I really thought that this time we aren't that stupid to blame ourselves in the transfer window. But now I feel like I have no clue where the club is at the moment. Neither if they want a new coach, who they want to sell and who to buy. Yeah still plenty of time left but instead of making steps forward it seems we are going backwards every day. It started all well but since three weeks we wait for the fuckin close sign of Vertonghen, when does it happen finally? It would be a good move to show everything is going right.

Please don't sell Rafa, we need him... and get the fn manager thing sorted!!!

And, of course, if we did appiont him, I would be his number one fan - I could never purposefull want a manager or player to fail just to be proven right, that means wanting the team to fail, and I couldn't do that.

However, as the Spanish Waiter has had very public spats with Levy on at least two occasions, I don't think we need to worry overmuch about the possibility of his taking over the helm at the Lane.

Have we had any ITK about him, by the way?

Thank you for reassuring me (y)

No, not so far as I know - every-so-often someone feels impelled to chuck his name in, as though it has a mystical power all its own, and they clearly expect everyone to march down the high road with banners proclaiming Rafa-B is our saviour, and seem genuinely surprised that anyone may be less than keen on the idea - but, no, no ITK

Watching Euros, lots of talent on show. Benzema, Nasri. But Lloris/L'Oreal. Is he worth it?

I'd forgotten about that. Ta muchly. The point with FSW is not so much what he could do with the first team, it's not beyond the realms of possibility he could do a very good job, in the short-term at least. The club as a whole would instantly regress though. At a time that is critical for the club over the next 4 or 5 yrs, which hopefully leads us into the next quarter of a century, it would be disasterous, imo.

Perhaps I should point out that if I were in receipt of some bona fide ITK and didn't wish to be branded a bullshit artist or WUM I would apprise the Great Wise Ones of my information and ask them to post it under the aegis of the Goat.

The Goat isn't just one source; he is many.
appreciate that ss57 but i can only quote the goat. it seems the various sources point to a very fluid situation.

I have a friend and an uncle in their 40's and 50's respectively, who were Chelsea die hards.

For the first year, they loved it......... but none of them have been for 5 years.

you can draw your own conclusions.

Bet they enjoyed CL win!

It's obvious why no signings have been announced yet. We can't sign anyone until the new kit is unveiled. What are the new signings supposed to hold up? A bib?
This is not a bad shout - when is the new kit released? Could the lack of confirmed signings be something as simple as that (rather than the doom and gloom options)?

I realise that we've had a managerial hint from the Goat, but I can't believe that I've just skimmed through about 15 pages of the relative merits of Moyes and Capello as THFC managers. Again.

Sheesh.

Lloris - not competent to say. Don't watch much French football, and, while he wasn't overly impressive today, I don;t think I've seen enough to make any kind of definitive judgement. Now, Benzema...:eek::eek:

What else are we going to talk about in here?

Why have the incessant complainers never figured out where the Read Only ITK section is? I found it and I once lost a battle of wits to a dust-mop.

Never fear SP, Benzema is another one of those names that we are perpetually linked with who will never actually play for us.

As for Lloris, his worth really depends on a) the amount paid, and b) his form should he arrive. I've seen a bit of him and rate him as an excellent keeper but goalkeepers are a rare breed. Even the very best can make some absolute howlers. I rated Gomes highly and still think he is an excellent shot stopper, he just makes some very suspect decisions. Pletikosa (sp?) was linked with us before and I thought he looked good the other night, as did Akinfeev (sp again?) who comes very highly rated.
