The Ade wage thing doesn't ring true to me - it was in the Standard tonight - but having known what he wanted for so long how could we have agreed a fee with City only to falter with the player now?

Doesn't make sense to me and I'm more inclined to believe that we sorted things with Ade but have been haggling with City over a fee and other stuff. Hope that's sorted now...

With all due respect I very much doubt negotiations are concluded that way with 'dibs' on a certain player and not for one second do I believe that Levy would just buckle with the fee under half way through the window. FFS this is Levy time, he's in his element - its what he does best.

They can give us dibs on Ronaldo but unless he ever wants to sign for us and we ever manage to stump up the required fee it means jack shit... same goes for any of their players. Really cant see Levy agreeing to anything of the sort in return for taking considerably less!

Dibs on a player and accepting much less?

Seems a bit weird. So we've accepted less; actually given up money, effectively SPENT money, just so we can maybe sign 'a player' in the future?
If this is the case, then I seriously hope that AVB's 'Black Book of Potential Superstar Young Players' has been called into play and we can bring the player we have 'dibs' on in AS PART OF AN EXCHANGE THIS WINDOW!
Or, alternatively, Levy has agreed to subsequently buy the player in the future? So, paying for said player AGAIN. Paying TWICE?

Gone a bit mental with the ???? here but I just don't get it.

'Okay Meester Levy, you we will give you forty meeellion p...p...p...p...p...p...p...p...pu...EUROS and you can sign Senor Ronaldo when his contract ends in 2024.'
'Deal.'
'Your word is your bond, Meester Levy.'
'No...WAIT. NO DEAL. I meant to say NO DEAL! Ah, fuck it'

I'm glad I'm not the only one struggling with the concept of dibs and accepting less money for Modric than Levy wants. Not a single part of it makes sense. Unless he merely meant to say it'll be cash + player.

I also have some non transfer related info for you guys. Again its nothing special but I've received some info following someone I know meeting Danny Rose recently. He said the following things of interest:

On AVB: Andre is highly intelligent and the players are very impressed his ability to communicate what he wants from them on the pitch. This season should be interesting if we get things right.

On dealing with difficult situations: (implied) It was very difficult to talk to Rednapp at times because he didn’t take kindly to people disagreeing with him. Any type of criticism (constructive or otherwise) meant you’d be out of the squad for a while. This did happen to one player who questioned the training methods and he was shipped out pretty sharpish. It was often better to keep shtum about things like tactics and training. but now there has been a change in management and more focus on youth players he feels he may get a chance to show what he is capable of.

This seasons targets: He’s hoping to be given a clear message that he will get games (in whatever competition) or go out on loan to a Prem side and get a full season at LB under his belt.

Training ground: The training ground is breathtakingly good and the squad are really positive that the new ethos can push us forward

From another source- Gareth Bale is a very hard worker and trains like a beast in the gym during the off season to increase strength. Thinks he can get better.

Same, it would set a bad precedent to allow that to happen, unless the exchange player was amazing.

I think we can all safely say we've been ITK on the panicky stuff for a few days now. I've been sweating bullets since Black Tuesday

Well, if akqayid is panicky who was the one telling us to trust Levy, that everything was ok and investment was coming it means we are f....ed!

Well, he was championing Ade, Lloris, and Moutinho. JJ has already said that he sees Lloris and Moutinho taking a long time so nothing has changed really.
