Love your username, mate.

Anyway, JJ's latest is really positive. He seems confident it won't go the same way as the 'world class signing' as well. Fingers crossed!

Hey sorry, I looked through the thread and hadn't seen the quote you're alluding to. Mind reposting it?

You would think by now that our scouts would know what he is all about. I mean its not like we haven't been chasing him for two years or something. He's already scored two today as well.

If Rondon is not good enough for us, then Fletcher definetely isn't good enough, I don't get all the hype surrounding him, hes pretty average.

JJ saying we are trying to be ambitious is typical spurs, waste all summer on chasing players that don't want to come/we won't pay the wages for then we rush around on deadline day for dross such as Fraizer Campbell, Ryan Nelsen, Rasiak and Saha. I await the signing of Carlton Cole on August 31st :notworthy:

Hope im wrong this time but can't see it. Proove me wrong Levy and Spurs!

Fletcher is complete dogshit,,god help us if we sign this waste of space,,,surely were better of taking a gamble on a Rondon type,,than buying proven crap

Just out of interest how often have u watched Fletcher play? Because each time I've seen him, he looks strong, good with link up and strong finisher. I have a feeling you're basing your opinion on the fact that he played in a struggling relegated team; a team may I add with awful service in which scored a fair few number of goals.

I'm just glad the ITK is no. 350. It made me think of southpark - bout treefiddy.

Ooh, it must have been about seven, eight years ago. Me and the little lady was out on this boat, you see, all alone at night, when all of the sudden this huge creature, this giant crustacean from the Paleolithic Era, comes out of the water...

based on the fact that hes not good enough,,i watch alot of football, hes distinctl average, plus there asking pathetic money for him aswell,,hes no better than danny graham or grant holt, are you trying to tell me you would be happy with signing steven fletcher for 14 mill

I agree with Daryl - he isnt good enough for us. The phrase big fish small pond applies to him imo - i dont see him cutting it at the top level. Players like Bentley, Crouch, Bent have all performed well for clubs in the lower half of the EPL but when it comes to producing it for a top club they have all struggled. Fletcher does okay for Wolves but we need a player who can perform consistently against the top clubs on a regular basis. If he was a 4th choice striker for a couple of million then id be in favour - but right now I would rather us focus on a first team striker.

Im sure though that AVB would want an up to date scout report on him, if he were to judge players by their performances two years ago we might be signing carroll henderson or any other liverpool player signed in the last two years :p

So 'distinctly average' equates to 'complete dogshit' now?

We've had no ITK on him, so I wouldn't worry. (JJ was asked if we were looking at players of his calibre and replied that we were aiming higher.)

All those linking us to fletcher or Hennessy should hang their heads in shame, next you'll be championing the cause of mick McCarthy for manager :-/

Well Pav and Defoe have played for us in recent times and Fletcher would be A LOT more effective in our current team than either of those. Not a fashionable player but he is strong, intelligent, works hard and can finish.

I'm not saying we should buy him but he is a very good player. If his name was Fletchinho nobody would be complaining..........
