Like every Spurs fan I love Dawsons attitude and character. But I do recognise that he has his limitations, and that moving him on may be best for both parties. It gives us the chance to promote Caulker, whilst Dawson could get the playing time he deserves. Unfortunately I can see it being Liverpool he goes to with Agger looking likely to leave the club.

Would be sad to see him go as he clearly loves the club, but for the bigger picture it could be for the best.

The question is, what if Liverpool (or x) has offered big money for Dawson who is seen as a reserve by AVB, however no clubs have bid high enough for Bassong who is also a reserve in AVB's mind

I don't see why we need a replacement if Dawson goes. We already have Bassong, Gallas, Caulker, Vertonghen and Kaboul. Only really Gallas is injury prone out of that group.

Bassong scares the absolute shit out of me every time he goes near the ball, yes he has pace but he has no touch whatsoever and regularly gets caught ball watching or out of position and his distribution is atrocious....he should be going long before Dawson IMO.

As much as i like Dawson i really have to disagree with this. First off he played the grand total of 7 games last season for us, so he clearly isn't that important.

Secondly if he has no pace and we are going to be playing a high line defence then he will be an incredible liability in defense for us, so hardly important to the squad.

You have to remeber, that apart from injuries, your 2 main CB's should be playing almost all the league games together throughout a season, so unless Kaboul picks up an injury then Dawson would be resigned, at best, to mostly cup and PL rotation. Not to mention the fact that Gallas may well be preferred to Dawson, in which case even a fully fit Dawson will likely find himself on the bench for three quarters of next season.

Why don't you tell AVB??????

And you're telling me he's not worthy of being in the squad??? lol

I wasn't around yesterday so pleased to see my two dumb ratings from Wolff and Big E Train for stuff I copied into the RO.
Probably cant expect much more from people who sound like a character from Gladiators and a C-Beebies programme but hey ho:rolleyes:

Anyway great round up A&C like an ITK Subterranean Homesick Blues. Heres hoping some of the good stuff happens soon :sneaky:

Agreed. He's terrible atm and with the amount of minutes he's played at CB during pre season i think AVB might agree.

Alright keep your knickers on.

That was before pre-season and he had to say someone was going to be the captain. It may well be that he stays, i'm just going on what the ITK is saying.

Also i'm not saying he's not worthy of being in the squad. I just can't see him being first choice over Kaboul and as such he will get very little game time this season, which is good for no-one.

CAULKER isn't going anywhere. Why would he? He's only just got back and is nailed on our back up centre back behind Kaboom and Verts. Plus he signed a new contract about a month ago. Liverpool? £10m? Don't make me laugh...

Difficult to understand where Dawson fits in and mixed messages here (captaincy/staying vs not suited/going). Can't see him being any better than 4th choice but it's a clean slate for all and I guess there will be surprises in team selection along the way. We've all got Arry's line-ups tattooed into our brains, AVB may see our squad very differently and he might see some character in players that we've written off...

Exactly, and we did perfectly well without him - hence the statement from me that he clearly isn't that important - otherwise we'd have shipped a load more goals and finished lower down the league.

So are you telling me that we would have done just as bad playing a fully fit Dawson as we would have a half fit King. I dont think so.

Anyway, re ITK. Glad POTL has come out and rubbished this.

LOL! so now our slump in form from last season could've been averted if only we'd have had a fit Dawson.... i've heard it all now! ;)

Football 365 reckon city are in for leandro.

We'll then they are monkeys, or he is a monkey is he joins them.

That'll kill his career IMO as he is never getting a regular look into that side with Aguero etc... in there - he'll turn into next seasons RSC or Ade etc....

Sounds like his agent is trying to get his price up now that it is clear Milan can't sign him.

Cheers scutchy

We all know POTLs YELLOW in the past was reference to Rossi. Now he's jumped on the LD bandwagon.

Bap bap Americano anyone?

What the hell. If this is serious I may ban you.

Blue is and always was Adebayor.

Yellow is and always was Leandro.

Any more on this and I will genuinely ban you until the window shuts.

I think loaning Caulker to Liverpool for the season could be a very sensible thing to do - get them to develop him and give him an extra year experience, rather than having him sat around here understudying Verts.
