Stoof,
if you remember our messages about a LOC. One has been prepared today. Note i said prepared not issued, which suggests a credible/guaranteed bid has been placed. Don't know the amount or destination i'm afraid.

I'm actually moving countries at the moment so on leave, thus has no access beyond what i can see on the blackberry

LOC = Letter of credit?? As in loc/ Iloc/ ciloc ??

Didn't know these were used in football, usually for export trade arent they with 30/60/90 day restrictions.?????

Probably changed since the days I had 500,000 discretion on credit limit for insurance, wow nearly 20 years since those NCM days...

Just had an epiphany moment....... The message which seemed to be almost beamed down into my brain from a higher being stated the following... "what the fuck are you doing with your life? you are spending way too much time reading the same people ranting the same bollocks every day" ..... Think this should be renamed "the daily reiterate the same point over and over again blog" ....... Signing, or in this case, not signing a striker by 11:59am on friday will be a bit of a disappointment ...... thats it! .... no further words are necessary because that sums it up in a nutshell ...... It most definitely isnt "a worry", it is not "a shambles", it is not "disasterous", nor is it "calamitous", "criminal", "gross negligence", "distressing", "a fucking disgrace" or "wife beatingly annoying"..... And guess what? No matter how much you bitch/piss/whine/whinge or fret about it is gonna make the blindest bit of difference because your little rant effects nothing other than letting some steam out of your ears....

Example: "Spurs miss out on Cisse".......

Response from Spurs Fan A: "Ahh crap he would have fitted our system well"
Response from Spurs Fan B: "Oh for fucks sake, what the fucking hell is going on, the tight arsed bastards... are they trying to make the club and me, down the pub, a laughing stock... Do they not know how much of my life i have invested in being a spurs fan....well they should just ask the ex-wife who i ignored for 2 months every summer and 1 month every january..... I would be so angry i could spit but unfortunately all my spittle has dried up as i have been foaming at the mouth for the past few minutes"...

zzzzzzzzzzz......

For anybody who does;t know, just for clarity:

An agreement between a bank and a company or an individual to provide a certain amount in loans on demand from the borrower. The borrower is under no obligation to actually take out a loan at any particular time, but may take part of the funds at any time over a period of several years. This agreement is fairly common in situations in which a business must make payroll but does not always have theoperating income to do so, especially when its operating income is seasonal or otherwise varies from month to month. It is also called open-end credit or a revolving line of credit

correct, letter of credit.

the bank i work for use them a fair bit in the sporting arena. But i think you are (correctly) refering to standard export and import LOC's. Other standard ones include FALLOC (funds at lloyds Leters of credit) for the insurance market etc. but they can be tailored. at the end of the day its just a piece of paper guaranteeing payment from one bank to the other right (right!)?

THIS IS VERY ENCOURAGING PEOPLE.

I'M WRITING SOMETHING ABOUT THIS AT THE MOMENT.

I REPEAT - THIS IS VERY ENCOURAGING.

I've missed the general gist of your previous chats about this. Can you clarify in a one liner what this is about and why this is encouraging? Cheers Stoofio.

We had oppportunities to buy falcao at River and Porto (before he had his sterling 2nd season). We were certainly linked most windows (Harry also taked about him publicly).

But we were buying other strikers during some of that time. I don't remember when Redknapp came in and bought Defoe and Keane first window, anyone saying fuck off, we could have had that unknown kid from Colombia with a dodgy knee instead ?

The point is we are continually gambling. The nature of this says less prove to be brilliant than are. Pav cost us more than Berbatov. Look which one turned out to be good. As did Defoe, Bent, Keane & Bentley.

We do gamble on second tier and developing players. Kaboul, Ekotto, Walker, Modric, berbatov, Carrick, Lennon, Bale etc etc. It's really fucking easy after Falcao has moved for 40m to say "we could have had him for 3m" when he left Argentina. So could every decent and half decent team in european football, and they didn't either. What does that tell you ?

How many failed Falcao gambles are there out there ?
