Liverpool look a really good side now. I think their capture of Sturridge has really provided them another piece in their jigsaw to being a young and dynamic side. Their start this season was too inconsistent for them to be a force but they aren't too many wins behind us. A bad run for us could put them amongst the contenders if they have a strong finish.

Definite 4th place threat now.

Not really, the next two games will be the test for them, tough away trips.

They have still yet to beat a top 10 side this season I believe?

If a team manages to get 4th, with a statistic like that at this point of the season, then this is going to be one hell of a run in...

They are the most improved side in the last two months. Looking very good and they are not a all laughable.

Their problems will come when a big bids comes in for Suarez. The big boy are hovering I believe and those bids will be big.

But fair play to Liverpool. (I'm quite annoyed as I have an irrational loathing of all things Liverpool FC - I cant stand the club)

I can't stand the club at the moment either, but they are a strong challenger for 4th. Say what you like about SS (Which is kind of ironic) but they will become a formidable partnership. We need to pull as far away from them as possible to make it harder for them to catch up. One bonus is there in the same situation as us, from feb onwards they'll be playing on a sunday. But without CL, and the constant criticism he receives, i can't see Suarez wanting to stay much longer.

Heard a mention of Guardiola eyeing him......but Suarez he will have his pick.

7 points behind us, plenty of games left.
They should be eyeing 4th place just as much as we should still be eyeing 2nd or 3rd.

Liverpool have had some good performances of late, but are playing poor opposition at present, so it is hard to say whether their run of form is as much them clicking as their opposition hitting the wall after early season form.

First and foremost we simply need to keep our run going and then we don't need to worry about the other teams. 2 draws now, we could do with a win in our next game to kee p the pressure on Chelsea and the chasing pack.

Not exactly Liverpool related but Brendan Rodgers is in court today supporting his Son who is being charged for sexual assault. Just seems that club and its employees attract negative attention almost every week!

From everything were hearing there's a more realistic chance that it will be Gerrard and/or Carragher leaving in the summer moreso than Suarez. Unless something major went down like BR getting sacked or something, I'd be absolutely shocked if Suarez went in the Summer.

You never know in football. After his performances this season many clubs will be interested in Suarez but most can't afford him. If the right club comes in for him then he might just want to go.

I remember once we were looking good and finished 5th and were looking to build then Utd decided they wanted Carrick and derailed us.

Cheers, I appreciate the feedback - Just read this as well:

"Saints new manager(A former argentina international with over 20 caps) had him on loan at Espanyol last year so knows him well personally."

Seems VERY odd that a very promising, young, talented, Brazilian winger is up for grabs at 10.2 mil :shifty:

Looks like he did well at espanyol last season and scored 3 goals in 11 appearances (serie a and europa) for Inter this season...
Moratti and Benetiz claimed he was the future of Inter when he started playing back in 2010,... now that he's 20 he's gone from a team building block to sell him off in the January window?... clearly there must be more to it, but I'm not feeling like Spurs are missing out on this player,... let saints and liverpool fight it out over him... :bag:

okay, clearly I am suffering from insomnia, so I ran an ad hoc table of premiership teams from the start of the 08-09 season through yesterday,.... and I found something interesting (in my sleep deprived state):

Over that time Liverpool and Spurs have the same record 83 win 44 draw 48 lost :watching:

And both of them 21 points more than everton over that time,..not sure what to make of that, just that it is...

The thing that's got me is that throughout the whole time it's been reported their supposed bid has never budged from £8m.

Initially it was 'Liverpool bid £8m for Coutinho'. Then 'Inter reject £8m Liverpool bid for Coutinho'. Then 'Liverpool come back with improved £8m Coutinho bid'. Then 'Liverpool will have to increase their offer for Coutinho'. Then 'Liverpool set to raise Coutinho bid to £8m'.

Is Levy doing their negotiating?
