I don't dislike Ade as a person. I'm sure he's a nice enough guy.

But he has been stealing a living this season. Honestly, 90% of his forward play this season has been clueless. He isn't good enough anymore. None of our strikers are. But you support the team regardless, right?

Ade isn't going anywhere any time soon so.

What the fuck? He was more than good enough last season. He hasn't lost the ability as a player.

his track record suggests he was a car crash waiting to happen and to that end I blame Levy for signing him but he was cheap in comparison to what was needed, given his circumstances at City ..... let see how cheap he turns out to be when you try and offload him. I can see him being another Bentley winding down his contract only twice as expensive.

Levy thought he was being clever and it has come back to bite him on the arse. Yes, hindsight is 20:20 and there is no silver bullet (inset other cliche as you wish) for the striking situation but a striker with a strong character that would actually fit into AVBs system and not drift into the corners and do nothing was the priority, yet Ade was signed!

This is an it has contributed great deal to our exit from the Europa League and could contribute to our faltering league performances which could end up costing us Tuesday and Wednesday night football!

He is still a good player but he is too weak of character and lacking in discipline

Yes he was more than good enough last season and on those performances i do not believe anybody was against making his move a permanent one.

But this season would anyone want to make the same move based upon his performances?? I cannot believe they would.

I don't believe in abusing the bloke and having hatred towards him BUT imo he hasn't done anything near enough or contributed enough in games to warrant anything particular positive comment wise about him. Something has gone drastically wrong and all season i have kept saying to myself(after every game he's played) this week he'll score goals, create chances, do something(like last season) but he just doesn't do it. I do not base my opinion of a loan front man just on the goals he scores but their play in general and his for large parts has been woeful.

What did they say?

Basically that Adebayor was the ONLY player that did not come and acknowledge the fans after the final whistle, when they then had responses from people in the ground saying it was bollocks and there were a few of them that didn't come over they backtracked and said they were defending him etc etc. Damage had already been done as it had kicked off already.

I'm not arguing he hasn't been very good this season, he clearly hasn't. But to say 'he isn't good enough anymore' it's just shambolic.

Based upon this seasons performances, he isn't though?? And had he been on loan this season, i doubt many would have wanted to make it permanent??

This is true Bear. Ade was one of quite a few who never came over to us fans last night. Tbh I can't really blame him as the mong'fest level was cranked up to max at that time and all kind of abuse was being hurled at him. I have seen the THST tweets and FB status this morning and I'm disappointed to say the least. I'll have a few words with Darren at the next game as that is not on and has fuelled the crusade against Ade at the moment....

Ive always sat on the fence where Ade has been concerned, but after 120 mins of gut wrenching football by the time pens came around i was as knackered as the players Then Ade took his pen and missed, then to me and the Mrs it looked he smiled after he missed it....i just shook my head...but i tell you now, i have NEVER heard my Mrs go off on one like that before in the 15 years i have known her...i wasnt sure it was a smile mind you but if it was, even if it was a wry smile it was the wrong time to to do it.
I was a proud spurs fan last night, we worked hard and showed a FEK load of heart, i do think we lost it the minute Verts was sent off as it meant we had to hold on for pens really.
Roll on the next game and a FEK load of COYS.

Not really the same terminology though is it? BAE hasn't been all that good but it wouldn't mean I would go as far as to say he is no longer good 'enough'.

If Adebayor gets last season form back he will be 'good enough' again, is what I'm trying to get at. What the other fella said makes it sound like he is done as a footballer in general.

Got to be honest mate very few of the players came over in Lyon when we were out there as well.

Both need replacing imo.

100% correct, the same did happen in Lyon.

I have messaged Darren already in regards to this matter and await his reply......

The trouble with Adebayor is that he only plays with any intensity and focus when he feels like it, or when he has a personal point to prove. His MO has been the same at every club he's been at, namely that as soon as he's got his foot in the door and his position and status is challenged he shirks away from it.

The other problem is that he thinks he's better than he is. Even last season when he was excellent he was incredibly wasteful in front of goal. He's a very good striker when he puts his mind to it but not world class.

Berbatov was often accused of being lazy but although he wouldn't ever chase full backs to get the ball back, he always played with a focus and determination on the pitch. And even if he was tempremental, Ade isn't fit to lace Berbatov's boots.

Having said all that, given the choice between a fit Defoe and Ade, i would play Ade all day. If you asked me though which one i'd rather sell in the summer i'd rather sell Ade, purely based on his attitude.

Hate is strong word, but he is really, REALLY, REAAAALLLY bad at football.

He has no first touch, no shot, poor pace and 0 vision for a pass. He responds poorly to pressure and I honestly cannot work our what positives he has to hos game.

We need a better striker, badly.
