He wont be brought in as a starter, where Leandro or Villa would.
Someone said 2 strikers, one youngster being a youngster.

Cornelius would fit the youngster who would be our 3rd choice striker?
ITK says he would probably stay at Copenhagen or be loaned out elsewhere for a season or two.

from rebrab's post?

sounded to me like he is someone we are looking at, but he might not want to join as he will get more game time where he is, or go to a bigger club than where he is where he will get game time.

That's how I read it:
We have interest in a young Danish forward that I've never heard of, plays for Copenhagen. From the sounds of it, he will probably stay there or go to a club where he's more likely to get immediate game time, but rest assured our scouting system is in full flow looking for the next young striking talents.

Although on a second read - he could also be saying we won't get him - I'm just an optimist and assumed we would sign him...

I took it as him currently saying no to us, as he wants guaranteed playing time. The positive from this post is that we are looking for young talents, and our scouting system is seemingly succeeding in identifying them.

We are interested because our scouting is strong but bearing in mind (damn you AVB) current cirumstances (that he wants to play regularly) we probably won't get him now. Maybe some other time or maybe never cause he'll join Ajax/PSV and then move to Dortmund/Bayern/City.

Yep - having re-read it, you are right.
So is Chris.

Just got over-excited by some ITK.

Sorry all.

So, Bale staying, Leandro and Villa in, Cornelius as 3rd striker and Bernard (who I had never heard of up until yesterday, but now want us to buy more than anyone else ever... )

That would be an adequate window.

The way I read the info about the young Danish striker was that he will be signing but would either stay on loan at Copenhagen or go to a bigger team on loan to get the required game time (i.e. one of the lower Bundesliga or Primera division teams)

Well I've just spoken to Bale's daughter. I asked if a move to Madrid is on and she said 'ba da do da da'. So I suggested he may be happy at Spurs to which she replied 'ga ma do fa ta'. I had time for a final question so I asked what she thought of Adebayor? She filled her nappy. Make of that what you will.

Re this Cornelius chap, we'll either sign him and he'll barely see first team football and get loaned out several times before being released, or we'll pass up on him and he'll sign for Bayern Munich and become the best striker in the world. That's how it usually works anyway.

Ever the optimist me!

I know it's not directly Spurs ITK related but it reflects the world we are competing in.

Falcao has just signed for Monaco.

He signed for "footballing reasons" and not the money. How can we compete? See below:

AVERAGE ATTENDANCE 12/13
Oxford Utd - 5,954
Luton Town - 5,825
Shrewsbury Town - 5,735
Port Vale - 5,727
Notts County - 5,521
Monaco - 5,303

They, and the players involved, are just making a nonsense of fair competition in football.

We know what your saying but got to admire their ambition it can raise the green eyed monster in all of us but it has to be said they are raising one finger to ffp.
And where is platini on this one as he was so quick to slag off English team's and try to restrict their success but what about french side's, one law for one and all that.

Really?? If I had a chance to work somewhere where I didn't have to pay tax, I would be off in a shot!
Footballers can sometimes have a very short career (Fabrice Muamba springs to mind) so if a club is willing to pay crazy money for them to play there, I don't blame them.
Now if you want to talk about these idiots who brought in FFP thinking that it would not need monitoring......................
