Bit confuzzled over the latest ITK.

Difficult to know the extent of opinion built into it.

Didn't really believe that the Paulinho/Bernard stories were anything other than agent talk, trying to get their players to bigger clubs. Still don't believe we are really moving for either of them with any solid intent to sign them.

Based on previous experience where we've been linked to top quality players this early in the window, we're actually going to end up signing Lescott, Ince & Grant Holt.

Just to play Devil's Advocate, but it could also be a way to get Dortmund to up their offer.

If they believe they are the only one in it, and we aren't, they may just be willing to slowly up the offer. If they think we have some interest, just like with the Paulinho situation, it could force Dortmund's hand.
I was thinking the same thing unless of course they bring in Erikson. I still believe Bernard would choose us over them despite them having the stronger team. As I said from the begging I think to bring in these sort of players from these sort of clubs Levy can't do a Levy, he will need to go straight in with a firm offer and not try an haggle till the cows come home... We will loose out.

You have to remember as JJ is supposedly overseas his information is most probably second hand, meaning that the ITK filtered through will be affected by the sources' opinion - This is the same source which painted AVB as a fraud originally.

I'm not too worried tbh.

Either JJ is high or the club are high, either way somebody has a good dealer!

So this is what happens when Daniel goes on holiday.

I've no idea what to make of any of it, although we have had a quote today from one of Bernard's many, many advisors saying we're the only club in contention with him so there is interest there. And we're not the club you'd use to try and incite a bidding war for a player because we're known to be stingy.

Are our boys following around Dortmund's boys or is it the other way around. Bloody hell, can't we just sit down with them and agree to divide and conquer instead of pursuing all the same targets.

That's actually a pretty good idea. We see the club setting up all of these 'strategic partnerships,' well why not with Dortmund? They are widely recognised for their development of youth, can you think of any better team to share our youth resources with?

Two teams in different countries trying to achieve the same ends in the same way.

Fuck Real off, chancers, and partner up with a team that can produce a win-win scenario.

Cue the Spurs/Dotmund scarves!

I envy those at work today. Most likely I will be refreshing this part of the forum every second until I log off tonight.

What is wrong with me? I need signings! No wonder I can't sleep...

You got some statistical evidence to back that up?

If Baldinin knows absolutely nothing about football and players then the man is a genius who has fooled a lot of people and earned a lot of money by doing it.

My very limited understanding was he was there to do the negotiating part and not necessarily identify the players directly, so not knowing how that much about them probably wouldn't make that much difference. JJ's later comment about Pleat saving things internally as he brought us Ginger Pele and knows less then nothing about modern football scares me!

That's actually a pretty genius idea. And i'd feel like we were in partnership with a team that was a super hero rather than a super villain.

And i'd be all over that half-and-half scarf.

my view for what it is worth, is that JJ is big mates with Sherwood. And Sherwood is probably a bit peed off that he never got the director of football gig, and is just venting his spleen to JJ.

The above is probably horsesh*t.

Different sources probably, but

Bernard; we are definitely interested and have talks with club and agent
Baldini, that stuff is just wrong
As for the Swedish scout who gives a toss.
