There is no way we'll go to Palace without a new centre back don't worry lol. We are a shambles atm but not that much of one.

The season before last we had Utd and City as our first two games and we partnered Livermore/Krancjar and Krancjar/Sulking prick Modric respectively in central midfield, so anything is possible at Spurs mate:unsure:

Actually..... I can see the logic in this. Livermore isn't a million miles off Caulker

No, he is more than million miles off Caulker as central defender, moreover would prefer Kaboul or Vertonghen over him even in his preferred position. If we lacked central midfielders due injuries and had enough central defenders.

Wanna bet?

That seriously wouldnt shock me. I think for the first time in years we attacked this window relatively early by bringing in Paulinho, Chadli and Soldado but it may tail off in true Spurs style which would be a fucking great shame considering the calibre of players we have purchased thus far.

Agreed - just because they are similar build does in no way shape or form transcends to a similar level of understanding and reading of the game at CB.

Lunacy if we are deeming Livermore a viable option at CB.

We really cannot afford to drop points against Palace. They'll be coming out of the gates flying and we've dropped plenty of games against crap teams in the last few years in Cup and League games. Starting Livermore, would frankly be a disaster, especially if he starts against Swansea the week after. If Bale doesn't play, we will struggle to create opportunities in these first few games. Soldado is awesome, but he isn't a creator. He needs quality service to do his thing.

I don't believe so many people are assuming we are going to walk it against Palace, how long have we supported Spurs and when have we ever done what is expected?

I support every Tottenham player completely and stay level headed, but to start the season without a recognised central defender would leave me fuming and would be an utter shambles. You do not experiment with players in a Premiership game whether it is Palace or not. They are professionals with something to prove so to say we will be fine with Livermore and Chirpy in central defence is a ridiculous approach.

I see you kind people picked up on my comments from the other side. Just to further elaborate. ...

dawson was opinion based so disregard it for now.

livermore will be used as a centre back certainly converted to one. I have been banging on about this for ages,he reminds me of ledley when he broke into the first team. Jake can become a cracking centre back but he has to learn quickly. This positional change has been mooted since harry was there.

Kaboul is still injured his knee swells, it is not severe but 100% he is not. He can train but not everyday (exactly like ledley) its not permanent so do not panic.

Sandro and kaboul have an outside chance for palace but its a 100-1 shot so whisper it quietly. :)

They know what they're doing. It was clearly at the end of it's time so it was to be changed. They're saying they're delighted with the exposure we've had through that Bale poster.

He's got next to no game-time under his belt as a centre back. I think it's a tad presumptuous of AVB/the coaches to feel Livermore can do an adequate job in the back four for a top club this season. Even Veljkovic must be a better option than him at this current moment in time?

Do you mean the Veljkovic from our youth set up who was signed as a central midfielder and converted to play centre back?
Oh the irony

I take it Vert has no chance at all for Palace?
