JJ is confusing me, he says we've not agreed anything (fee+medical+contract) then says it's the agent's fees holding things up... These twatter conversations are horrible, so many chains of replies that everything becomes a mindless ball of confusion.

Willian not done, things to iron out regarding money but hopeful it'll still happen.
Suggests/implies Bale (may) have been sold (see my previous post)
No agreement yet for Lamela
A lot of this TW down to Baldini/DOF and JL releasing the Bale money up front....

I think Bale has already been sold. Have done for a little while. I do not believe all this Uncle Joe has had a quasi footballing religious epiphany and has suddenly decided, after 11 years, that he wants to win the league. I think as well as the new TV money, shifting some dead wood over the last couple of years, we have some kind of deal with RM for Bale and that is the single biggest factor in us suddenly going berserk and running amok all over Sky's transfer window.
What's more, I don't mind. With the players we already have and If we get the players we are trying for, then I think we have drastically improved more than one area of the pitch and will be a better group for it.
Having Bale didn't always facilitate better football last season, he just facilitated a better outcome sometimes. I think with the additions we have acquired and are hopefully trying to, we will become a much better footballing team overall.

what is great about this is it appears the squad will look pretty similar to what everyone was drawing up when it became obvious bale would probably sold, instead of some random replacements for those players.

I completely agree. I don't buy into the teasing from other fans about us using "Bale" money. I think we've stepped up massively PROVIDED THAT we get Lamela and Willy in his place. Would like the Chiriches fella too but that might be greedy.

Agreed. We'll have better squad depth, with a higher quality of squad depth too. We will also be forced to play as a team as we'll be relying less on our star player to win games for us.

Totally agree. There is no doubt in my mind that sooner rather than later, when this side clicks, we'll be a much better footballing team overall - not just in terms of effectiveness but we'll be better to watch as well.
