Add to that fact that Cap can also be back up to defense - I think we should keep him and loan Holtby to a PL club.
We should leave our midfielders the way it is at the moment and allow Carroll to progress at QPR.
Bring a LB and a hungry young striker or an experience PL forward/striker.
We just need those two players (LB & For/Striker) to keep that top 4 challenge!

Not for me, he looks woefully out of his depth at center back.

I don't get the remark about the two Brazilians fitness? Aren't they both expected back in the next week or two? Its not like either are facing several weeks out is it?

I could understand if we were looking stretched, obviously, but we aren't. Unless the injuries to Sandro and Paulinho are more long term than the Club are letting on.

Its as clear as day if Napoli cough up that bit extra we'll sell Capoue - which is disappointing.

Personally I'd just leave our midfield exactly the way it is. Keep Capoue and loan out Holtby. I can't believe VIlla or Swansea wouldn't be interested in him.
Well both Paulinho and Sandro as well as Verts are in today's training pics as shown on Spurs FB page.

How can he determine whether we need him if he isn't sure what he offers. Surely he has to play him to truly assess him.

In any case I just don't get any of it. Must be some sort of personality issue.

Must be I reckon or Sherwood is just being an idiot.

bit more from cabinessence, nothing very new or interesting but anyway:
Source said TS thinks Bentaleb's a real player so is going to keep playing him ahead of Cap on the basis he knows what Benta offers, but doesn't know what Cap does. And whilst Benta's playing so well, has no need to find out. Napoli's shown some interest and DL's asked TS does he need Cap, to which we can only surmise the answer was something like "no, not especially".

We may buy Iniesta and Tim will still recall Carroll and play him ahead of Iniesta because he knows what Carroll offers but not Iniesta

Yes the results have so far been great but in the long run I don't agree with that attitude. He should be trying to understand what our senior players can offer rather than just trusting the younger lads. Players should be chosen according to the situation demand. He has my support but I hope he's flexible enough to understand that the new lads should also be chosen as and when the situation demands

Don't particularly like Sherwood's attitude towards Capoue from the ITK. However it's hard to argue that Bentaleb hasn't taken his opportunity and assuming Tim has Sandro and Paulinho (and clearly Dembele from todays quotes) ahead of Capoue in the pecking order I don't see the issue with him favouring Bentaleb as 4th choice if £12m+ ends up on the table.

I'm all for squad depth though - as I have no interest in our bank statements - so I'd only want Capoue sold if we were to invest the funds in THIS window (which is unlikely).

His results disprove your theory. He is winning with his. If you job depended on the next 16 games of the season, would you blood a unknown to the premiership player like Lamela in, or a tried and tested very good player in Lennon. Thats whats Sherwood has done, he needs to know what hes getting. Dont think that if we bought Suarez he wouldnt be playing him, cause he knows what he can do too

Agreed, Theres no point selling him and have the money in the bank. Sell him in the summer if he needs to go, we may need him

I'm actually fearing for Sandro and especially Paulinho. Can you imagine their faces when Tim tells them that he is keeping Bentaleb in team because he has never seen them play.

:(

Umm but Sandros been at the club years, and Sherwood has seen him play, many times, and Sandro trained with Sherwoods u21s when recovering from injury

Don't worry, this will all make sense to the world when Sherwood finally reveals to us that he is, in fact, legally blind. He hasn't seen anyone play for years

If he was on a longer contract I'm convinced he he wouldn't be getting rid of him so previous.

Capoue is a victim of circumstance.

THFC, consequently, is a victim of timbo's short term agenda.
