But we already have a very uniformed and similar structure to the one he has at Ajax at all levels up to the U21s. And they are playing a very similar brand of football (high tempo 433) that Ajax teach and play.

This is what draws me to fdb, he seems the best fit, the best candidate to sync the development to the first team ad well as being a winner.

I couldn't even begin to second guess Levy's thinking on this, but if I were him I'd be thinking maybe it's time we adopted this bottom to top philosophy completely, rather than having the first team completely disjointed (AVB) or managed by an idiot who makes choices for the wrong reasons (Sherwood).

If he does like the idea then I can't think of a better man than FDB.

Well that's certainly a big plus regarding the similar structure and like you say him being able to sync the development effectively. Still not sure how high up Levy's list or priorities that will be.

I also still worry about the style, and if similar to AVB in terms of implementation etc...but I know we'll see that differently so not much point in elaborating too much.

But surely you wouldn't be too dissatisfied with Pochettino? There's more to like than not to like, and our defense needs improving whoever the next manager is regardless.

Welllll the stats are quite interesting this season:

Assists aside, it's quite close :bookworm:

:)
I must say, those stats for Lallana are not great.... 68 shots and only 9 goals, at one point i was hoping we may get him but he will be so very overpriced this summer, prob cost twist the price of Kono just because he is English.

Straight to the point & on point. Levy needs to read this.

It's not always about stats though is it? Luke modric stats were hardly earth shattering but he is one of the best players to ever play for us in the prem era. He kept us ticking over with his brilliant ability like Lallana does for Southampton. Lallana would be a superb signing if we could get him. Him alongside Eriksen yes please.

That's a tad short sighted. You have look at how he performs and fits into Southampton's attack, and he's a pretty vital component. His movement is great and his balance on the ball is exceptional.

Very true, but i still think Kono is a better player regardless and the fact that he would probably be half the price is just extra incentive. I like Lallana and i think he has been a key figure in Southampton's season, there are just other players i would prefer.

See above. It was more surprise at his low goals to shots ratio and it not these stats that made me not fancy him.... more his probable price tag

Do we need Lallana? He'll be competing with Chadli and Lamela for game time (maybe Eriksen as well) and we still have Townsend as back up. I would fucking love to have him as an option but....money could maybe be better spent elsewhere?

It could be spent better elsewhere given how much he would cost, perhaps. I honestly think we need exactly more of his type though - guile, brains and finesse in the final third.

But I'd love him here....Lallana, Eriksen and Lamela behind the forward is just dreamy to me :)

Guarentee at any point throughout the season at least one of Chadli, Lamela, Eriksen or Lallana (if we had him) would be injured. Therefore, not stealing from anyone's game time.

And since we almost have enough players for two seperate teams for the league and Europe, it would be good if we utilised the whole squad during our continental campaign.

That's fine. We can get that Sherwood fella to take charge & hold the fort until then (y)

To be honest I think he is out our league mate. His win ratio proves he is far beyond what we can expect to attract in a manager. Sorry.

It's certainly creative line up but it's no good when you can't defend properly even Liverpool this year who have been a breath of fresh air with their exciting fluent football are going to end up potless as they can't defend very well nearly fifty goals conceded.
Surely it has to be about balance finding the right way of attacking and defending in equal measure.
