Yet Southampton's record of gaining points from a losing position was incredibly poor. Doesn't exactly suggest a side willing to bust a gut to get back into a game, or a manager that knows how to change the outcome through tactical decisions.

Give him a while...that lot will take time to register.Sheesh.
We're half way through a mutiny!
Sherwood is minimum rumoured to have fallen out with Sandro, Capoue, Dembele, Holtby.
He hauled off Chiriches & showed no faith in him.
Paulinho got the hump when he got dropped & his agent is touting him around
Vertonghen has been trying to get out since before even Sherwood started.
Lloris won't be without offers.
He dropped Townsend, gave up playing Soldado by the end.
The only players left obviously 'happy' were Ade, Eriksen and his babies.
The tactics were erratic, the formations varied week by week, he played players in entirely new positions on a whim, talked utter nonsense to the press, undermined the players' confidence repeatedly and contrived to become so unpopular amongst the plans that he couldn't even play in a testimonial!
But he won 59% of his games. AND LOST 37% of them: the worst rate of a Spurs coach.
Sherwood, everybody. Thankyou very much.
Some people's expectations are beyond ridiculous. For some it appears there can't be any flaws in our new manager whatsoever.
So badly managed and coached that they've won 60% of their games under Sherwood.
I swear I only just saw you have 'Mad Ting' in your profile after I posted. What a coincidence.
Or maybe it was on the periphery of my vision and my subconscious picked it up, giving me an insatiable urge to speak in Mandem. We will never know.
May be true but i think we could have been much better (regardless of manager)...
Simplest thing is look at the play of the individual pieces. We had drops in form from Sandro, Paulinho, Dembele, Vertonghen, Capoue at a minimum (others may argue more) and had increase in performance from Eriksen and Ade. Eriksen was likely to succeed under whichever manager, Ade being reintroduced to the squad and playing well is a credit to Tim.
The squad survived and succeeded driven mainly by moments of brillance by an individual player not the effort of an entire squad. Tim took talented players with track records of success (Sandro, Dembele, Paulinho, Jan) and had them playing at an average/poor level.
Look at Atleti and see what happens when you have a manager who is able to consistently get average players to play at a higher level and consistently be put in a situation to succeed. Atleti absolutely have some talented players but also have a fair share of middle of the road players (especially compared to Real/Barca or several other CL teams) and Simeone was able to raise their performance.
Tim was never able to consistently put players into a situation to succeed and over an extended period of time it would have caught up to us.

Are you being serious?
I do admire your dedication. Gotta give it to you.Absolutely..............he can't have supported Arsenal at any time in his life,he can't be English,he musn't wear a gilet,he can't be animated on the sidelines,he must not care,he has to speak a foreign language and he has to love Sandro and Holtby.

Supposed to be a deterrent but not an effective one. Obvious ways around it.The Telegraph are stating that Pochettino will personally need to pay a £2m compensation fee if he breaks his contract with Southampton.
"Former executive chairman Nicola Cortese drew up the contract that states Pochettino has to personally pay the outstanding amount if he breaks his Southampton agreement early."

I'm sure we could somehow pay that, but it's a very interesting clause.
But Tim Sherwood got our squad, with all our injuries, performing like a top 4 team..........why replace him to bring in this guy?
Bonkers, aren't they.top 4 teams usually don't lose every single match against top 4 teams
