Surely Levy wont sell until he's got his new stadium. That will be his shining moment, no?
Depends on the price. I don't know how much value to put on the club statement. If shrewd businessmen like Levy or Lewis are in discussion to sell, they are not going to make it public, and in fact would quash any notion of such.

So the claim from the club is effectively that we've been in discussions with them to help finance the stadium build... :shifty:

The Cain Hoy announcement was made without anyone from Tottenham knowing about it. Defying levy. Playing Hardball. Calling Levy out on it most probably.

We've had more statements from the club over the last 3 days than we did in the previous 12 months where the stadium is concerned (and potential buy outs)

Like bloody buses! The PR team have been very busy. Someone must be getting their feathers ruffled by all these leaks/reports...

Ah but are they in preliminary talks to agree a possible time-table for
discussions with regard to a potential takeover sometime in the future.
Or did they just get the same begging letter that everyone with a spare billion got and replied, 'You're 'avin a laugh'
Cain Ahoy Stadium has a certain salty tang to it.
Harry guaranteed a starting role for years to come.

What probably happen is spurs have approached Cain Hoy about funding the stadium and Cain Hoy have look at the deal and thought they would get a better return if they bought the club.

What is the point of all these press releases?
Like any other business the Club is for sale at the right price.
Cain Hoy say there are assessing an offer. The Club say they are not in negotiations with anyone. Both are correct but neither means that agreement won't eventually be reached. Or not.

Cringe at the style of the reply, as if mocking the Cain Hoy statement earlier.

Go on Dragons Den and ask for £1Billion for 100% of a company with a turnover of about £140Million,and see where that gets you.

The club has actively been look for a financial assistance for the new stadium. Would not be surprised if the approached Cain Hoy offering them a percentage of the club or the stadium itself for cash. And they in return are mulling over an option, where a buyout is one of them, we would look very attractive to any longterm investor. THFC is no longer publicly listed so it would be all on Lewis whether he wanted to sell. And I don't think he will want to sell. Let's not forget they have been approached multiple times in the past and have said no.

Because Spurs have been listed on the stock exchange within the last 10 years, Cain Hoy was obliged to notify the City of its preliminary discussions. Under London Stock Exchange rules, it has until 5pm on 10 October to either announce its intention to make a firm offer for the club or announce it does not intend to table a bid. Cain Hoy is understood to be fully funded, with several billion pounds already raised from a number of investors.

So according to the guardian the LSE has to be informed to some extent and this is why this has leaked. Lewis cannot just keep it all secret.

It all adds up to me -Enic are not in the stadium building game - this was always going to be their exit point.
