So Giroud, out for most of the season so far, on 4 league goals.

Ade and Soldado combined, 3 league goals.

Sweet.

The truth is out of the magnificent 7 we signed last year only Eriksen has proved a good buy. 5 complete flops in Soldado, Lamela, Paulinho , Capoue and Chiriches. One good squad player ( especially being the cheapest ) in Chadli . The way we wasted the Bale money was nothing short of catastrophic and none of them can be sold other than at a huge loss which Levy will not countenance . Hence we are in the shit buying players on the cheap now because the cash has all been spent. The future will only be bright with a change of ownership.

Sorry but let's call a spade a spade and not keep pretending these were great signings who just need more time.

To be honest, I think Chadli has done more this season than Eriksen. I think he's been a good buy too, he's got the physicality to do well in this league. Capoue I think has been a decent buy, but nothing special. He has played some good games for us and started this season very well, but he seems to have little disappearing acts (albeit, was recently injured). Lamela shows signs but never quite pulls it off when the going gets tough. He needs to have a big performance against a big team, rather than a Europa League side.

Paulinho Soldado and Lamela have been very disappointing. I don't think any of us imagined they would be this bad for us. Eriksen and Chadli have done ok. For the money spent on them they have done well. For me the jury is still out on Chiriches and Capoue

Lamela, Paulinho, and Soldado have been total flops.
Chiriches isn't good enough as a defender in this league but he's clearly talented and as Romanian captain I won't label him a flop.
Capoue is decent. Looks very good some games, fairly poor in others.
Chadli is pretty good.
Eriksen is really good but doesn't always play like it.

Honestly I'd say we can get 55m+ for the first four (Lamela 21-27m, Paulinho 12-15m, Soldado 9-11m, Chiriches 8-10m).

We'd look so much better with say Lacazette, Moreno, and Konoplyanka (would cost maybe 40-45m in total?) as opposed to those four.

Ultimately I wouldn't say we've wasted the Bale money...It hasn't gone up in smoke, it's tied to the market value of the players. Obviously Lamela/Paulinho/Soldado have lost value, Capoue/Chiriches are about the same, Eriksen/Chadli have appreciated. We've not made good use of it, but we haven't wasted it.

Really I think the values you place on Lamela and Paulinho are very optimistic. I don't see anyone right now paying more than 15 m for Lamela, 10m for Paulinho . I would say the 4 players you mention would bring in around 45 m , possibly the 55 m you mention if you throw in Capoue. I don't share any enthusiasm about Capoue. The fact that 2 home grown kids are our 2 first choice deep lying midfielders says it all.

If we could raise the 55 m that way and spend it on players like the ones you mention, I wish we would do that but I just can't see any of those numbers being accepted by our dear leader.

No, we've wasted it. Lamela won't be sold because Levy won't take the (incredible) hit he'd take on him; therefore he'll just languish at Spurs Bentley-style, maybe going out on loan a couple've times. He will prove to be a massive loss both financially and psychically. If our chairman somehow, someway had a change of heart and just wanted to flush the toilet, even then Lamela wouldn't garner more than 16mil. As for Soldado, he won't go for more than 6mil. Paulinho won't go for more than 8mil (if that). Chiriches won't go for more than 4-6. Not having a go at you, just feel that you are massively overvaluing these players; they are fucking terrible, and no one in their right mind will pay anywhere near the figures you've quoted. Honestly I hope you're right, but I don't see it. We'll see (or more like we won't see).

I agree that Eriksen and Chadli have appreciated- so yes we would get some profit on them, but no way on earth will it come anywhere near mitigating against the losses we would/will/should incur were if we sell those aforementioned four monstrosities. I honestly don't know if four worse players have ever been purchased at one time in the history of the English league. Liverpool came close this last summer, but we still have them beat. Soldado alone is one of the all-time biggest Prem busts.

But by far the worst part of it all is the fact that Levy will stubbornly stick it out with two if not three of those players. I predict he will NOT take a huge loss on Lamela, but rather will persist in having him be a part of the squad. Personally I'd sell him for 10mil less than we paid and be done with it. but I don't see that happening.

While I think Capoue is a decent player in his own right he plays the game at his own pace and doesn't suit this high intensity game that Poch supposedly favours.

back onto Soldado, definitely time for him to move on in Jan but probably won't happen as Levy won't want to take the loss and basically admit the Bale millions have been squandered without any thought.

I like Soldado as a person and have wished him nothing but well but I cannot believe some of the chances he has missed. That said, i hope he gets the winner today

Well , maybe it was a coincidence but we scored our winner today with the only 2 players worth keeping from the Magnificent 7 on the pitch.

He hardly got a kick today - I like him as a player and support him but we do not make it easy for him - he didn't have a single chance created for him today.

Chadli goes missing during games and though eriksen did today, chadli just done it more this season

As for soldado, he was shit today but the difference between the 3 behind soldado and the 3 behind bony is huge

The AM 3 for swansea made some great balls constantly for bony. Bony missed 3 decent chances for swansea today but constantly got service. His goal was lucky since it was going wide and landed back at his feet.

At spurs bony, wont get that consistent service and the ball will constantly hoofed at him, the space given to him wont be as much as well. So I really don't think Bony is going to be as good despite being the best player on the pitch.
