I'm pretty sure in the past Ballbag has said both David Villa and Samuel Etoo are moving to Spurs. He chats shit.

However even if Illa did move to Real Sociedad I don't see how it is Levys fault. It has been stated the player is Pochs number one target for the position. So Levy waiting it out for the managers choice is surely just backing him? Plus fans seem to be ignorant to the fact that moving country is a big deal for anyone. Maybe Illa doesn't fancy it. Maybe he wants to go and play for a team where he knows he will be loved whatever happens.

I actually believe we will sign him, for what it's worth. But if we don't I would be totally comfortable with the fact we waited for our top target rather than settling for a substandard alternative.

It's nothing to do with him not having a perfect record, it's to do with him having an absolutely dreadful record which suggests that he makes things up to appear relevant. I have lost count of the number of times he has confidently said a deal will definitely happen (or sometimes even has already happened) only to be proven wrong. One of the most memorable ones was him talking about Torres during his Atletico days, and just casually dropping in the fact that 'as everyone knows, he has signed for Barcelona and will be joining in the summer' which was just complete nonsense.

At best he has terrible sources and should keep his mouth shut, at worst he's just a self-publicising liar.

This doesn't mean Illarramendi definitely WON'T sign for Sociedad of course, but of all the 'legitimate' sources around, Ballague is perhaps the least worth paying attention to, along with the BBC's Ian McGarry.

McGarry is in a league of his own.

I don't remember the example you use but it was a few years ago, surely is time to move on.

I follow a lot of journalists and most of them I'll pay attention to when they post a transfer update but the wording is anyways important and many people fall for this and wrongly accuse someone.

Regardless of my 'trust' for a journo I always treat it like ITK, with a large dose of salt.

A lot of people take it personally that the information they chose to believe (etc) didn't happen.

Moving on to the long list. France Football (via Sky Sports)reporting we want DM Jeremy Clement from Saint Etienne. Not worth a thread of his own based on this link and I am sure our name will be linked with every poss DM going this week.

Lets get our business done early he said (Levy). What a joke! Can't see anyone of the targets coming in, and we will end with makeshifts again, and look to be offloading circa next summer. Rinse, repeat. Can't get Berahino over the line, can't find a DM, can't get rid of Ade/Lennon or Townsend and then we buy Trippier with no games played yet, Wimmer who probably will turn out for us once in a blue moon, and then we smash out 12m on N'gie who has done what exactly? Could turn out to be another Townsend with just pace and sod all else. Love how our club addresses the issues. Wonder how many we will score if Kane get's injured?

Trippier
Wimmer
Alli
.
Alderweireld
.
.
N'jie.

Calm down. Incontinence in not a good look.

Ballague said Cristiano Ronaldo had been saying some insulting things about Messi to RM teammates, he's also started many rumours off in the past that turned out to be false, I am actually amazed he is still a pundit for Sky. He probably does get a lot of good info but I also think he hears a rumour and is quick to shout about it, which is dangerous. Hopefully this is the case here.

Ballague said he's nailed on for Socieadad which basically means as good as nailed on to us. Banana time
So did AS in Spain, which is what I was referring to.

Also, Balague may have some bullshit but there's too much smoke going the other direction right now. I don't think we're getting Illarra at all.

We haven't been beaten by David Moyes- if the lad wants to come to us, then the ITK's suggest there is a place for him. If he wants to go to the club he made his name at then he will, regardless of who the manager is. Players do get a say in where they want to go.
The panic set in by a tweet is ridiculous. Like anything wait until there is something official then carry on blaming Levy for not giving someone to do something they didn't want to do!

Agreed.

I mean the damn Njie thread had quotes, fucking quotes, from the Lyon chairman saying the deal was off and then voila, two hours later he's announced as our player.

This time an idiot with a track record of being moronically wrong retweets something and everyone loses their damn mind.

It really makes me wonder how gullible these posters are in real life though.
Indeed I bet a few of them are awaiting there 10 million inheritance from Nigeria as they have sent their 2k out to cover the legal fees already

and at the end of the day, the manager/coach gets the sack yet again.. hardly new? he just likes to test people's patience..

Yes
Shifting players can be hard but we've been getting on with it.
Add your list to mine, and there you have good evidence that we've been doing lots of business early.
Just the final pieces of the jigsaw for this season left IMO.

A DM not being identified and sorted yet is frustrating.

Not that this will stop 90% of Liverpool fans accusing Spurs of stealing their targets were he to come to us.... Which will give me many hours of humour especially if he does well.

The vast majority of Reds know Illra isn't even on the agenda as we all get our info from the same reliable people so I don't see why they would make those complaints.

Oh for fuck's sake.

Same fucking shit as the Njie thread, maybe I just need to put the bellends who go and meltdown when absolutely anyone writes anything on ignore. I keep thinking their numbers are bound to dwindle with how much bleach is drank each time, but no it actually seems like the numbers grow. Like a bunch of miserable schadenfreude jerkoff gremlins.

Maybe you should give every single poster/post who, IMO quite justifiably sometimes, disagrees with your unrealistically positive view of all things Spurs a bad neg. That might make you feel better.

Oh, I see you have already been doing that all day everyday since the window opened.

As a response, every time you have been unfairly and unnecessarily doing this to peoples posts who have the utter temerity to see things a little bit different to you, I have been, and will continue to, give the same posta 'like' to bring justice and balance to the universe.

By all means hit the disagree but giving a bad neg like D'oh because someone posted quite fairly that Spurs should be doing their deals earlier in the window as best practice is completely unfair and OTT.

Sorry but I HATE it when people cannot accept any other POV other than their own and try to punish and deter people from this using neg ratings.

So we have reliable players in the wide positions, back up for Kane in place? Lets assume Ade goes (hopefully likely), Lennon and Townsend, and the probable sale of Lamela. Will these positions be covered in 7 day's? And then we have to find a DM. Let's hope the relatively unknown N'Jie proves to be a gem, because I can see us going through to Jan with just Chadli, Andros, Lennon & N'jie if we are lucky. If an offer for Lennon comes in, he will go. That will leave us with 3 wide players, and one recognised no.10 in Eriksen. Looks great so far. Still don't let my glass half full attitude deter you :)
