Really not having this 'you cant blame Mason' bollocks.

Ever since he broke into the team his biggest problem has been his lack of positional discipline. He gets forward and gives zero fucks about being caught out of position and leaving a giant hole at the back. Andros Townsend was absolutely slaughtering the space he was leaving behind today. He hasnt adapted, he hasn't learnt.

He isn't good enough, and quite frankly, if he didnt come through the ranks he would be receiving the same kind of (undeserved) vitriol that Erik Lamela got in his earlier career here.

Ryan Mason is a liability and I cannot wait to see him leave this club. Neg rep me if you want for having the balls to be blunt and honest, i dont care. The stats back me up; Ryan Mason in his last 5 starts has seen us lose all 5 games. Bye bye.

Bit harsh blaming a guy who is injured, unfit, and constantly played out of his position. He should be vying for a 10 spot with Eriksen, not trying to be Dembele in CM.

They were better than this season, but not great. There were several games where Mason and Bentaleb were walked all over by the opposition. It's the reason Dier got shifted to DM, and the reason many of us were desperate for Spurs to sign a new midfielder.

We were just lucky that Dier adapted so well to the position, Alli turned out to be a star, and Dembele stayed fit for so long.

Like Dier and Dembele haven't been walked on. In the last few weeks Dier and Dembele have been walked on by mid table Chelsea and West Brom, Dier by them two and Southampton and fucking Newcastle. All when it mattered and we had shitloads to play for, and those two had the best CB's pairing in the league behind them and the best defensive front four ahead of them, not wankers like Fazio, Chaldi and Townsend like Mason and Bentaleb had to work with.

Mason and Bentaleb have got very little to do with the midfield that has given away more points than any other from winning positions this season. Dier the invincible has been the common denominator in just about all of them.

What skills set have you seen in him to suggest he can play the number 10 role?
If we dont start Eriksen, Lamela and Dembele I dont think we can win a single game in the league.

FFS BC. I usually respect your opinion but your constant defending of Mason and blaming Dier is tiresome beyond belief. He is not very creative, his touch is poor, his passing is bad, his shooting is bad, he's weak physically and most of all he is a headless chicken with less positional sense than a toddler. I like his energy but energy is not the only thing you need to become a professional footballer.
The stats speak for themselves, in his last 5 starts we've lost all 5 games. Our play completely crumbles with him on the pitch as he simply has no clue what to do.

Agree. Dier poor's performance does not imply that Mason's performance is acceptable nor his quality is at EPL top 4 standard

Of course his performance was poor. He's had to play and press for two players these last two games and it's the same as when Walker and Rose had so many problems on the wings under AVB when Townsend, Chadli and Lamela weren't helping out properly.

Probably the fact that he's played there his whole career until Poch converted him into a CM last season?

He is not good enough to play either role at the level we are currently at. Needs replacing but I don't see it happening personally.

Anybody who genuinely believes Mason is good enough for us should get a grip.

Not good enough, like Townsend, like Livermore, like Dawson, like Kaboul. We replace him and the other dross intelligently and we will improve.

I think he's pretty good in the front 3.

Shite at DM.
I feel bad critiscing him

He's a good player, he works hard and you can see it means a lot to him

I just think he's not good enough and never going to be good enough to provide top quality cover for a squad hoping to be a CL regular

The best thing for his own career and for our quality squad depth if for him to be sold and replaced in my opinion

I wish him all the best but I want the best for the club and to me that requires us upgrading on him as an option off the bench and to cover the injured

Going in for his operation now

Poch has given him big assurances he's a part of his plans for the future, and to not get disheartened by his injury impaired form this spring.

I do not think he is good enough for us but will probably stay as a squad player.

that was before hauling him off at HT. is there any coming back from his awful performance? we need our squad players to come in and give us a kick, unfortunetly Mason is just not good enough

I really hope this in not ITK...he has been awful this year!

He's been injured and has needed an operation since Christmas. Would have had one it if Bentaleb hadn't been out too. He's been playing hampered and in pain all spring. So it's really unfair to judge him in any sense on the last few months.
