Completely different players really, Modric plays in the engine room and Eirksen one of the attacking three.

Eriksen is a massive part of our team. I think because he's quiet, calm and reserved some people seem to confuse that with thinking he's on the periphery and we could get a better replacement. I think it would be very difficult to get a better player in his position who we could realistically afford/attract. Hope he stays for many more seasons.

Obviously a different level of player but Michael Laudrup would probably get pelters nowadays for not always barrelling about at 100mph. But ironically Eriksen isn't slow or lazy at all...

He was playing much deeper this year than in the past it seemed. He was really dropping down to help move the ball up the pitch more frequently in matches.

I wouldn't think he could play in a midfield two like Modric did though, maybe a midfield three but a midfield two may encourage teams to inflict rape-age upon us and steal our precious seeds lol.
