Such negativity going into the new season,

this is a media ambush.

They have sat on this to unleash it in an untimely manner

Well, the real untimely manner would be to unleash it after a loss, or a blown lead.

Not sure who would leak to the press though - seems like Spurs have plugged most leaks, and I don't see how an agent thinks this helps Eriksen's negotiations. So, it feels like either the club are preparing to sell him, and softening the loss by intentionally painting him as unreasonable, or the entire story is bollocks.

I think that, like last season it may work in our favour.

It's perfect IMO - whilst Sky, BT Sport and the BBC have a mutual wankfest of Pep, Jose, Conte and Jurgen, we slip under the radar and keep adapting, growing and improving. 4 trophies we chased and chased decently last term and came close-ish in 3, tough for any team especially one so young. I think we will improve this season whilst the others will wilt from expectation.

I think only two of the above 4 will reasonably in with a challenge (probably the two Manc clubs) with us, Arsenal, Chelsea and Liverpool all in there with a chance to win it if we have a good season.

I will say this though - if he is really only on £32k/week, then shame on Spurs for not getting a new deal done last summer. That would be criminally underpaid in this league - which is why I don't think I believe it.

£150k/wk? Bye Christian. Maybe if Eriksen worked his ass off every game instead of taking multiple games off at a time. But he doesnt. Thats why we need someone to push him.

If you seriously believe that Eriksen takes multiple matches off at a time, I would be tempted to suggest for you to try opening your eyes next time Spurs is broadcasted (which should be tomorrow morning in the US).

Pressure coming onto Levy now, Keeping CL level players on the cheap is becoming less viable especially after the last TV deal.

I mean when teams like Palace and West Ham are paying better wages then it is only a matter of time before we lose our best players.

- Top scoring mid in the PL in 2015.
- 4th most chances created in Europe last season.
- Runs more km per game than any other Spurs player (fact)
- Is the only calm, collected attacking player we have.
- Is still only 24.

Baffles me how people think we'll be able to get better for <100k a week.

The agent doesn't seriously expect to get his client £150,000 a week. It's called negotiating, start high and accept less. I expect Levy will put him up with the high earners at around £75k a week, with add ons if we stay a CL club. Eriksen seems genuinely happy and settled at the club and still has 2 years on his contract, no panic yet. I fully expect him to sign, doubling his current wages.

Pretty sure if that's what he wants then thfc would of known for a while, as he hasn't been sold I'm sure it will get resolved. The money is mad around football. But I guess he is worth it compared to other players for other teams. 1 goal every 5 games and a shit load of assists is very good. Even tho I wish he would put his foot in a bit more. If he signed for Chelsea , Liverpool, arsenal , United or city he would get 150k.

If his agent is asking for 150k there is a deal to be done for 100 or 120k, which is what our top earners should be on...

150k is by no means unreasonable, he would get that at any of the big clubs.

If we agree to this or something close it could well start a scramble by other players for a pay rise.

I think you are being naive if you think that is not already going on. Agents know that teams have more money, and they want their share of the new revenue.

Kane, Dier, Alli, Lamela, Eriksen, Wimmer, Vertonghen...all rumored to be getting new contract offers this summer. I imagine Walker and Dembele may be looking for improved terms as well.

This is not a Spurs problem though. Arsenal are going through difficult negotiations with Ozil and Sanchez right now also. Its all part of the dance - finding the right deal.

I suspect the Ozil and Sanchez issues may be more to do with ambition / footballing reasons than money.
