Plugging the two gaping holes in our squad with Janssen and Wanyama for under £30m in today's market is incredible work. If we can add another player to help break down the bus parkers like a Gotze or similar that will be a hell of a window.

Then it's down to player retention and getting the likes of Bentaleb (and Mason if he stays) back on track to help out the midfield. Hopefully get more out of Son too.

It's weird being in a position when @JJetset saying 2 maybe 3 incomings and there's not massive uproar to that not being enough, but that's what a good season and stability can do. Obviously I hope and assume the 1 more in only applies to first team ready buys (would quite like us to look for a young GK for example).

Absolutely agree. Fist season for many many years I can remember us not needing something or lacking somewhere and the fact its all sorted in July is a bonus!

Very short?
We scored more goals than anyone else last year.
Outside of Lamela and Eriksen I don't feel like we have much creativity. Generally we're very easy to sit back against. We don't have the player that can either put the ball through a non existent gap or someone who can take 2 players out of the game through dribbling. The extremely exciting reaction from most towards Gotze is that he is both.

Eriksen went through a lull last season where he was quite clearly knackered and we suffered as a team. This season it will be even worse where he can't be rested from the early European games.

Van Wolfswinkel never got as many goals in a season. Plus one thing bearing in mind with some of the Dutch flops is the clubs they went to.. moving to a Norwich or a Middlesbrough suddenly that striker has to make a lot more for himself than he might be used to. We're a much better team which hopefully gives Janssen a platform to do what he does best.

It's all true. Van Nistelrooy, Kuyt, Suarez, Eriksen and Van Persie all went to top clubs. What Winkel thought he was doing going to Norwich is anyone's guess.

Contract rebel and arguably the weakest player in our AM trio (vis a vis Alli and Lamela)?
Stats aren't everything, but eriksen has 21 combined goals and assists in 35 premier league games, alli 19 in 33 and lamela 14 in 34. All three hugely contributed to our creativity last season...

Probably making a lot more money than he had made with any of his previous clubs. That's the most likely reason. When clubs like Norwich can pay that much, it just shows how much money there is in the Prem.

We shouldn't entertain selling any of our first choice players, even if you believe (mistakenly imo), that they are the weakest.

The idea of improving is getting serious competition for the likes of Eriksen, Alli
and Lamela.

Eriksen and Lamela new contracts are key this summer though, along with Kane and possibly Lloris and Vertonghen.

Well, actually yes.

Apologies if you have taken offense.

I wasn't looking into the reason why the person went up there. The article didn't state it was somebody suicidal either.

Well I also thought you were wrong...................I thought it was Ben as he couldn't find a tree

We are in transfer window mode here :)

Looking ahead to this season I feel this guy's going to give us some great moments. Late goals in tight games when he's brought on to play up with Harry and we're throwing the kitchen sink at the opposition. Just feel it in my bones.

We can't let any of our key players run their contracts down, but I don't think we need to panic just yet.

Vertonghen is a strange one though as it feels like he's been in talks for a new deal for years.
