So we will get the "market value" for a player with 1 year left on his deal.I’m guessing it’s because he’ll have 12 months left on his contract

Seems like the chief football writer for the independent is a member on Spurs community. Hello Miguel, hope you like it herehttps://www.independent.co.uk/sport...ntract-barcelona-january-window-a8715461.html
"Real Madrid have made initial steps to prise Christian Eriksen from Tottenham Hotspurthis summer, and are preparing what they hope will be a £100m deal."
Can't wait to see the result of that!If Madrid is Eriksen's dream move - it'll be his agent putting those stories out about now imo. Would be a shame to lose him this summer, would've liked a full season in the new stadium with all of them - but seemingly we'll lose Alderweireld, Dembele and Eriksen at least by the end of 2019.
And what I'm saying is that we will get market value. It's not like the situation with Toby where we will get maybe 50% of the normal price due to the clause.Again I’m guessing he means market value for a player of his qualities

I’m guessing he doesn’t mean the market value due to his remaining contract but market value of someone of his qualitiesAnd what I'm saying is that we will get market value. It's not like the situation with Toby where we will get maybe 50% of the normal price due to the clause.
I personally would be surprised if we gained CL qualification if we sold Eriksen in January with no reasonable replacement.Personally, this makes sense to me (as totally unpopular as that is) If it isn't about contracts/cash and more about the status of the interested team (hinted at by ITK) then sell and reinvest with a view to the short to mid term this season and more so next.
I'm hoping Madrid go for Hazard as they have been courting him for a while, and leave Eriksen alone. I'm hoping they think Hazard is the "bigger name" and they have enough playmaking types with Kroos, Modric, Isco, Ceballos, Kovacic etc so don't need Eriksen. The RM president likes to splash out on a big name and Hazard is probably the easiest big name for them to get.
Also Hazard has publicly said he would consider Madrid for a while now, whereas Eriksen hasn't.
For the record, I think Eriksen is almost priceless for us and think he would get into Madrid's side. I also think we would balls up replacing him. Maybe Madrid might offer makeweights which could help? I don't know but I am worried.
The competition is too fierce this year for us to fuck about. CL qualification is vitalI personally would be surprised if we gained CL qualification if we sold Eriksen in January with no reasonable replacement.
