Laurens often comes across as a bitter gooner.
He’s the one who said Lloris had a release clause. Which turned out to be obvious bullshit.

Yes and no. There is a cache about being in the CL, especially if that’s a routine achievement. If we sell Eriksen and fail to land CL, I’d be shocked if Poch stayed. We’ll get top 4 but is it that vital? Eriksen is a perfect example of CL or not we can’t stop players joining Madrid or Barca. We don’t spend the amounts required to buy the sorts of players who will only join if we’re in CL - and even that’s a myth, it’s all about contract size. Kane and Dele wouldn’t suddenly go oh no CL right I’m off, they’ll leave when they choose to leave if they choose at all.
We don’t need CL to spend as we only spend what we earn from sales anyhow. I used to think it’s part of the process and our path but now I just think we’ve hit brick wall and CL isn’t the issue. Our revenue increase without CL is going to be vast, but I suppose a positive is it could be used as an excuse as to why we haven’t bought anyone this coming summer.
JJ saying all the media talk is coming from Eriksen/his reps
He will go, he said when he joined in 2014 that he always had a plan to go to one of the big twoHopefully Madrid don’t bite and he then decides to stay
Not ideal, but expected.JJ saying all the media talk is coming from Eriksen/his reps
Absolutely have to get Isco in return if he does go. Start chatting him and his agent up early just in case it comes to it.

I would love Isco, but if we are not big enough for Eriksen hen we certainly won’t be big enough for Isco. Not unless Levy pays him handsomely... which, well, lol.Absolutely have to get Isco in return if he does go. Start chatting him and his agent up early just in case it comes to it.

Some articles now saying Levy is looking into viability of just keeping him until end of contract and letting him go for a free... Interesting...
Don’t believe that for a second. We wouldn’t even do that with Dembele, so why would we consider it for a player probably worth 10x as much?
All theory and all could be BS but right now I think it's fair to say this whole thing is playing out a little bit in the media. Eriksen wants a move to Madrid and wants this summer if at all. Levy wants him to sign a new contract and/or stay or go for mega money. So Eriksen puts out there his desire and Levy puts out there "or you can just stay".Don’t believe that for a second. Different situations entirely though.
Dembele is knackered in English league and arguably would struggle to get into team now with current fitness issues.
Eriksen is a key member of the team and in his prime - if we kept him until end of contract would give us far more chance of success during that period.
So he has rejected contracts and the noise is being made by his party ... Not sure what Spurs can do tbh.
Fantastic player, poor 'form' though, unimpressed.

Don’t know it it’s that we aren’t big enough. Players of Eriksens age probably always wanted to go to the Barcelona’s or Madrid’s. They are the worlds best.
Isco though has done that and won it all. After that, the Premier League is a massive draw imo.
But yeah, we would need to pay still.
