I’m sorry but this is just shocking and I’m not saying it because we lost today.

These are not the type of signings to propel us any further up the table.

Do people really think Poch is happy signings prospects from the championship? Is this really what the new stadium is for? The big game changer to allow us to move up a level?

Bowen and Aaron's. It’s like Spurs haven’t changed from the days of Davies and Etherington.

It’s just deflating. Yes they may work out, but it’s incredibly unlikely. These are the deals clubs like Bournemouth do, not a top 3 side like we are now.

It’s bad enough that a side who were behind us last season now look like winning the league because they filled the holes in their squad. What are we doing? Where’s the ambition Levy?

Our squad is down to the bare bones. Our CM situation and striker situations are literally critically bad.

I absolutely refuse to believe Poch is happy with this type of “backing”.
So do you suggest we don't buy them just because we havn't bought someone you want to buy, or should we not buy them if we do buy someone you want to buy? Or perhaps we should still buy them irrispective of any other dealings that might be sensible mightn't it? I'm sorry Primativ I'm being facetious but I think you were still hurting from yesterday's result and venting.

Well said.

Do we think that they are the calibre of player that Liverpool, Chelsea or Arsenal are interested in? Nevermind City or United.

This 'ambition' will be the reason why I think both Pochettino and Eriksen will be gone in the summer.

Liverpool's left back came from Hull.

Do you even watch football?

We need the young RB fella in yesterday
Poch has got to give KWP the regular right back spot. Trippier makes far too many defensive errors . We a,so need an upgrade on the opposite wing for Davies. He shoukd hsve been back I. His own half yesterday making sure Rashford never got near that cross from Pogba

So the ITK seems to only point towards 'prospect' type signings and we don't want signings for the sake of signings, which makes sense. What doesn't make sense is that we are 'chasing' this elite list of players that Poch has put together, but we expect to pick them up for circa £40m? Something has to give!

Just coming up to my 25th year as a season ticket holder. So, yeah, I've seen a few games in my time.

Besides, I'm pretty sure that Robertson had played in the Premier League before Liverpool signed him. So, it's a different scenario entirely.

I have a good friend who is a Norwich season ticket holder. In his words Aarons is superb. The way I see it, is that we get through the season top 4 and / or a trophy, it would have been a brilliant effort. There is no way we are signing a top drawer CM this window.

They showed ambition by buying from a relegation fodder team then? Is it about who we want to buy or who we want to buy from? I can't keep up.

It's quite simple. These signings are signings that pad out the squad, but they barely improve it, at least in the short term. We are stacked for wing forwards. Bowen isn't going to come in and displace Son, Lamela, Eriksen, Alli or Moura. Is Aarons better than KWP? KWP can't even get a game and got 3 assists in one game a few weeks ago. Can anyone imagine Aarons coming in and doing better?

So you want to know why I am annoyed? I will spell it out very clearly. These types of signings are not showing a sufficient level of ambition. They are not the type of signings a club who is trying to win the league make. Poch is not being sufficiently backed in the transfer market. Nowhere near.

The fact of the matter is we have been crying out for at least one top class CM for ages now. Our squad is woefully short. Where the fuck is the money and ambition and signings?

If Levy had actually backed Poch in the market, we could have won a league title or two these last few seasons. The problem is Levy always leaves us short. FFS, Winks is currently our only fit CM. It is quite literally a disgrace how Levy has left Poch so short. I'm amazed some fans can't see it.

Many of us were amazed we failed to strenghen in CM in the summer, and it's costing us. We will yet again fall short in the cups and league because of Levy's non existent ambition in the market.

Robertson was superb in the PL when Liverpool made their move, so it's really not relevant to this scenario. Try harder.
Why do I need to try harder? He was bought from Hull.

As for your rant, players were offered to Poch, ITK has told you that Poch wanted certain players that just weren't interested when other clubs came sniffing ergo do you take the lesser option or do you keep trying to turn a players head.

Levy shoulders blame, he has to, he is the man with cheque book, but it's not all down to him. If you have bothered reading when what little ITK has come to light in the last 3-4 months you'd know it isn't always down to the bald ones perceived lack of ambition or his famous tightness.

Is Bowen the answer or Aarons - I wouldn't have a clue, I've never seen them play - but someone at the club seems to think so - depends on if Poch says yes and if Levy remembers where he put his bic biro and signs off on it.

Yes, and what type of players were offered to Poch? Exactly. Ones that clearly Poch felt were not good enough. That isn't acceptable. The players are out there to improve the side. FFS, we are a top 4 PL club. There are literally only a handful of clubs in the world that we SHOULDN'T be able to buy from (Barcelona, Munich, Madrid etc).

There is a very logical explanation as to why we don't sign. Levy won't pay the going rate, so we are left with the tier 2 players being offered to Poch, who basically aren't better than what we have, and are basically squad fillers who may or not work out. Poch is clearly not happy with the players he has been told he can sign, so we sign no one.

Someone at the club may think Bowen is the answer because he's the only type of player we can afford within Levy's pitiful budget. Poch is probably so desperate for players with zero signings last summer, that he is going to wilt and say bring them in, but these are not the types of signings Poch would want to make to enable us to win the league. It's clear as day.

ITKs say all sorts of things, but if we just deal with facts, we failed to sign a single CM last summer, and as expected, we are now woefully short in CM with Winks as our only fit player. It's sheer incompetence. Wanyama is finished and Dembele is always injured and leaving anyway. It's a mess entirely of Levy's making because everyone knew Wanyama and Dembele were finished even back in the summer, and noone expected Sissoko to do so well, so really you could say we got lucky as it is but now the luck has run out. We've had to play Winks and Sissoko over every single game over Xmas, it's a disgrace.

All I want is for Poch to be given the tools to allow him to have us competing and win major trophies. Levy isn't doing that in any way shape or form. Our transfer market strategy is non existent and we are targeting totally the wrong positions and quality of player. There is no way Poch is happy with the situation. No way at all.

Again you're ranting and aiming all your ire at Levy, understandable.

ITK says money is available and has always been available. ITK has said we have interest in top tier targets who, for whatever their reasoning, have eyes for other teams the tier above us. ITK has told us in some cases we'd like to be kept in the loop (De Jong) on what might be happening with them. ITK also told us that there were deals on the table on TDD and they were nixed as, like you say, they were deemed not good enough.

Looks like someone is going to have to make a concession at some point.

Poch has literally said the same as ITK in interviews too. I'm sure he still gets frustrated, but he is clearly very particular.

I suspect these injuries may loosen his stance however.

If we go for Bowen, you can guarantee Poch has signed off on it, such is his power at the club currently (IMHO).

How refreshing it is to see our transfer policy being discussed and the detailed dissection of Levy's methods is a riveting eye opener. I have no idea why this stuff hasn't been discussed before, it just goes to show you how useful it is to have a thread dedicated to ITK for without it, there wouldn't be such a frank and informative exchanging of views on this stuff.

SC should learn from this and provide threads for it in Spurs Chat. I can only apologise that there hasn't been such a place for the past few years. Talk about falling down on the job. If I were you lot I'd be calling for moderators of this toilet to be lined up against the wall and shot.

So you're putting it on Poch?
