Had the same conversation well beforehand kick off.

They’re not necessarily the best ball players but the Diers, Milners, Ramos even Say it quietly Tony Adams give so much more to a team with their attitude, leadership and mentality.

Kane is obviously outstanding but he’s more of a figure head skipper. Not sure what Lloris gives on the pitch.

We really need so walk through fire for a result winners. Real grit mixed in with the ‘Tottenham way’ (!)

This softness does seem to endure.

It does indeed. I really hope that Poch looks for mentality in the players he wants to sign on the summer. We have plenty of flair, not enough Steel.

Don’t get me wrong, we need new midfielders. But with Winks’ emergence and the poor form of the full backs, the question must now be asked of where limited transfer funds get spent.

Just left the Bridge.

Fucking embarrassing.

The entire team were toothless. Had nothing going forward. Eriksen looks shattered - and he's obviously gone. Can't blame him to be honest - we are going backwards.

And we have zero options off the bench. Relying on a 34yr old journeyman whose contract is up in the summer to change things up for us. The contrast with the other top 6 is stark.

Pochettino looks to have run out of ideas. Lucky to beat Fulham, Watford and Newcastle. And flattered by that win against Dortmund.

And Poch has talked some amount of shit this season. From "we need to be brave" to "we don't need any signings" to "the project", etc.

Fuck me, it's about winning games and strengthening the team.

But no surprise given our utter failure to invest in the team.

Incredibly fortunate to have gotten the performances from Sissoko - otherwise we would have next to nothing in midfield. Winks has potential, but let's not kid ourselves, he won't start for any other team in the top 6. We have been crying out for a midfield enforcer and a proper partner for Kane for 24mths. But all we've got have been world class excuses.

Seriously pissed off.

Nauseating performance. I'm very upset. There just seemed to be no real attacking intent. It was pass and shift, constantly recycling the ball instead of trying to unlock their defence. The slowness that gave them every chance to get back into position had me tearing my hair out. Poch really needs to turn this around as it's a bad time to slump.
Looks like he's already gone madrid

I think him and tripper and a falling out; both were dropped after game because of it. He won't play them same side since if Verts isn't here

Does Poch strike you as the type to pander to that though? We're meant to have great harmony.

Would Barcelona or Real Madrid really want Eriksen? Just can't see it myself.

The Madrid fans would absolutely crucify him and i’m convinced he does’nt have mental strength to recover from the kind of mauling he’d get in Spain

Llorente coming on in both games has had a negative effect on the little football we were playing.

Odd decisions in both games.

Chelsea were sitting back at that point, so it made sense. However a) we didn't change any of our approach to try and use him and b) when he came on it looked to me like Chelsea decided they'd better push up a little bit and show some urgency in getting the ball back and not invite us to hit the target man, and so we struggled when they raised the urgency again in those final minutes. More a reflection on our pitiful all round performance really.

Exactly, this run of results has been a long time coming, we haven't been playing well for a long time now, the odd half a game or so excepted. The lack of draws has massively helped mask it and I still maintain the lack of transfer activity has hurt us.

Looking at it with half a knee-jerk eye, Sissoko, Eriksen, Moura, Lamela and Llorente could move on and we wouldn't miss them. Eriksen and Lamela can be superb but it now feels like it's not often enough, it's possible they've given us as much as they are going to and its a shame, Eriksen can be so so much better but he's just not doing it. If we're looking to change the mentality, that's where I'd start. In midfield.

We play too many passes backwards, play ourselves into corners too often, look laboured going forward, the link between defence and midfield is broken, it's to feet and back, to feet and back all the while letting the opposition close you down bit by bit until we make a mistake and the link between midfield and up front is double broken, it's all too slow, too methodical yet there's seemingly no method, we take too long to do anything, it's poor to say the least.

I'm also starting to worry that Pochettino has (and I hesitate to say it) gotten as much as he can out of a number of the squad and with a some of the players starting to age, it's a worrying thing when you consider the apparent reluctance to spend money.

Very worrying times. There's probably so much more to say but it's late and I'm not sure I can be arsed to carry on :D
You’re bang on here. It’s getting to the point we are better cashing in on Eriksen and rebuild a new midfield and style.

Lamela is such a strange player. Has a great attitude and a lot of people really like him, yet he just consistently fails to produce. He flatters to deceive. He could go too.

I’d like to keep Winks involved though. He’s really coming good.

Yep, it's worrying how often we look utterly clueless on the ball. The only way we seem to be able to build an attack without individual brilliance is through playing it wide to Trippier for him to attempt a cross. Other than that it's all just hopeful.

And just so, damn, slow. Do we even do anything in training to try and rectify this?

Lloris and Tripps are equally To blame. There should have been a mutual understanding of what to do in that situation.

Maybe if he could be arsed, we wouldn't be going backwards.

Llorente and Kane never works, it’s just not balanced at all. Llorente should only be a sub for Kane or playing when Kane is not available.
