And that matters in what way at all.
If they still owe money for him before today, they still will tomorrow and still will ion 2 to 3 years time maybe.
Just because they have since sold the player does not mean they have to settle the debt immediately to his former club at all.
So it doesn't strengthen or weaken them. Thanks for the heads up. (y)

Don't they also have to increase his wages now that a club has bid?
Sure there was some info on something like that a while back.

As fun as social media and internet forums were for a decade or two, I think the world of football would be a better place if we reverted back to getting our transfer info from Ceefax or your mate down the pub... Life was blissfully simpler then. Can we get send the internet back and ask for a refund? :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:

It does strengthen their position, because I would imagine they will be getting a fair proportion of the fee from Barcelona up front, so they have greater cash (may even have negotiated all cash up front as part of the sale for all we know, as price is less than he was reportedly going to go for, so they may have discounted sale value for up front payment)

Won't have weakened their position at all in respect of having to pay off former club.

I'll take your word for it lol.

Thanks for all the info.

This is getting completely out of hand, how can people keep copy and pasting their opinion over and over in every thread, positive and negative. I haven't read anything relevant here for days, yet it feels like its grown by 100 pages.

It's just children infighting. Levy's economics. People who think they're being witty. Or meltdowns on Twitter.

Can't we get back on topic and post when there's something to discuss?

Sorry for contributing to the useless posts.
I agree with you but it swing both ways. Bot sets of posters repeat their opinion over and over again. And both sets of posters are tired of each other opinion. But one side think of themselves on high ground. But the history correlates with the other side.;)

so are you saying we should get rid of those 3 now before it's too late, or we should buy their replacements now to cover next summer?

if the later what 3 players should not be included at all in our squad for the next 12 months

I think you are being obtuse. I was responding to the poster in question and me not sharing his optimism with only one player signed thus far.

You do the math... You happy with things as they are then good for you. I do however look forward to your foot shuffle next season.

I know what it's going to be... Oh it was the Euro 2020....We couldn't bring players in any earlier... It's very difficult to do signings. Weve been screwed over by our window closing earlier. Your famous one... We can't pay players for 2 whole months. What if they get injured during the tournament... You see it's easier making excuses.

Watching Pochettino's post match comments together with the bits of ITK re Betis messing around - I get the impression the money is there in the budget for what Betis want for Lo Celso. Id imagine Levy is unwilling to increase offer after reportedly agreeing price twice. Poch wants the deal done quickly at higher price - perhaps ruling out Sessegnon. Levy determined to play hardball and try and do both deals at lower cost

Trying for the life of me to remember who said this and who they were referring to...

Who:Ben
Where:FTL
When 6th August 2011

Ben saying Luka felt humbled after his reception today...Niko apparently said to Modric how could he leave Spurs after that...Modric replied 'I can't'

Lo Celso is a €50m player.

Pepe is a €50m player.

Arsenal showed that if you want to mess around with structuring and get a player that the club is unwilling to sell, you have to pay a premium.

Levy refuses to pay the premium.

Real Betis aren't unwilling to sell though.
