That's the think. CL VAR has a lot of problems. But at least it makes sense. VAR in the PL seems to only really come in on offside calls, with very few penalty reviews, and then takes the decision off the ref. The fact that the bar is so high for 'clear and obvious', only serves to frustrate. Because now all that happens is fans are confused why it's not used, and the same controversies exist as before. PL VAR aims to be quicker. But you can't have it both ways. Either you implement it properly, accepting that delays will happen and leave the ref as being in complete control of the game. Or you forget VAR the flow of the game, rather than this halfway system. If that happened in the PL, it would probably have been ruled out (similar to the Aurier goal).
Don’t understand why the PL’s version of VAR differs from UEFA’s version. I’m still pissed off that the PL ref’s allow the VAR officials to make the final decisions on some incidents. Shouldn’t they just be assisting the refs instead of making the decisions on behalf of the refs. And FFS, use the pitchside VAR screens in unclear cases.
tbf. They are currently top and unbeaten in La Liga. I think Zidane has still a lot of goodwill and support from people here in Madrid, and for now people are very much onside.Looks like Madrid could be making an approach for poch soon

To rest him. He has played quite a lot recently so makes sense. Same as us resting Rose really. I think Madrid would have been forgiven for putting out a much weaker side than they have. The squad should be well good enough to beat Club Brugge. Why did zidane leave bale out of the squad. The mans a fool. Real madrid are so average now.

The offside VAR thing is uniquely a PL problem, and have no idea why they decided for it to be that way. I personally think they didn't think it through and after they made the Stirling decision precedence has taken over.
