Thoughts on Ericsson's future? Personally i don't think much will change, he's still going for a small fee in Jan or nothing in summer. But i'm unsure what Mourinho's approach to these situations is. Will he just freeze him out? I don't think Jose is one to put up with bullshit.
A bit of guesswork, but I would maybe be inclined to think that he'll still leave, maybe even reunite with Pochettino.

Don't think he get a cockpit in the Formula 1 next season, not consistent enough at Sauber.

The original point was about whether or not Jose was going to need to spend. And if we don't spend that he would complain about it.

I don't know why, me not thinking he's going to of changed somehow means I'm not allowed to celebrate goals. And it be "miserable" to make a judgement based on what Jose has done in the past. Based on the facts of his previous tenures.

You honestly don't think he's not going to come in and want to spend 70 mill each on a left back, right back, centre back and defensive mid? The icing on the cake will likely be when we do spend 140 mill on filling a couple of those positions. And THEN he complains about the ones we don't fill... And if you actually dig into some of the recruitment he was involved in, especially at United, he doesn't nail it every time when he spends big, far from it. And where will that leave us?

Voicing these concerns, does not mean I'm not going to go to matches and celebrate when we score. I'm not gonna let Jose take that from me, nor should anyone. But this is a football forum, so me saying there's cause for concern because of the lack of resources we have and the obvious rebuilding that's needing and we're bringing in a manager known for spending big to get short term success is perfectly reasonable.

That wasn't the original point at all but nevermind...

Perfectly reasonable to voice your concerns, I'm not actually overly bothered either way, I just think it's weird that people are so desperate to knock him and bring up his past and automatically think that he's gonna repeat the negativity, it's wasted energy.

At the end of the day he's here now, so am gonna enjoy the ride either way ?

I don't think anyone would disagree that Mourinho is a very canny and effective tactician. He organises teams and he does it quickly whenever he takes over. He gets results in the short term and, when he has a balanced squad to work with, he wins things. Unlike Man Utd when he arrived, we have a balanced squad.

But there's more to coaching than tactics and player trading, obviously. A great deal will depend on whether he can adjust his own behaviour towards the players. He's taking over a club where most of the key footballers have grown up under the "arm-'round-the-shoulder" style of Pochettino. He'll have to bear that in mind and not come hammering in, braying at everyone and waving his new broom about menacingly. Can he do that? Has he enough personal flexibility? Has he learned from his last two failures?

I’m on board he’s the only manager in the world I can think of that might get
Levy to change he’s fucking tight arse moving the goalposts ways cos if he pisses about with transfers that José wants then man it’s gonna be carnage

Definitely!

Hindsight's a wonderful thing but I wish now Poch had left in the Summer. It would have been a time of his own choosing and although Spurs didn't win the CL it would have been a high.
He's a good manager and more importantly seems a good man.
I wish him all the best for the future!

I wish we were getting the Mourinho who first pitched up at Chelsea all those years ago. Fresh, lively and successful. Hopefully he'll recapture that with Tottenham. I fear we'll see the crabby, argumentative so and so we saw at United who looked like yesterday's man next to Pep & Klopp.

Of course I wish him all the best as he manages Tottenham the club I support. I hope he can unite the dressing room and bring the best out of all the players!
First off he needs to sort out the situation with Alderweirald, Vertonghen, Eriksen and Rose.

Yeah nice one.

So only ****s have a winning mentality?

I woudn't have an issue with Klopp, Pep, Guardiola, Conte etc... as they haven't done anything as outwardly dickish as Mourinho. Sorry if having morals is such an outdated concept in todays society.

Klopp is a fuck, Pep is a bit of a one as well imo.

Get behind him and quit the moral high ground bollox.

when you bring in a bloke like jose, you dont do it for tomorrow and you dont bring him to build a team. He is brought in to win the big prizes NOW. The EPL is not possible with klopp and pep around but the CL is realistic.

last chance saloon to win anything with 3 quality players going for free in summer.

That was the original point, just have to click through a fair few quotes. But yeah, whatever, that's all I've been taking about. It's my view Jose will need to spend to avoid him throwing a strop. Big. More than we've ever spent before. On specific players he'll want. That are well known and therefore very expensive.

Do I think Levy will allow that to happen? No.

I don't think anyone would have an issue either except for the pertinent point of none being available.

Do you think Levy hasn't thought about this?

It’s not what I’d wished for, but I have to accept the reality and get behind the team. We need to beat wet spam and create an upward trajectory

Give him a chance before you judge him. World class proven winner. Knows the Prem inside out. Will attract the biggest names. We must move on from Poch.
