Thanks for your honesty.I like Foyth as a CB if I'm honest. Sanchez Foyth as a pairing excites me both are tenacious Foyth very composed. We have to find a position and start playing him.
I was Westling with the thought of him being a right back , I have a bit more clarity now. Thanks for your honesty.
Steady on Athletic. He's not a "top-level Premier League centre back" just yet.The Athletic said:As for his determination, not only has Foyth overcome his slight build to become a top-level Premier League centre-back
So refreshing to hear honest answers like this.
I dont understand why Jose said he doesnt expect Sess to play LB this season then said about Foyth playing RB but not like Aurier who plays like a winger, I hope he was signalling he doesn't see Sess as that inside fullback but we might see him as the winger because it'd fucking make us click so much but I fear we won't ever to get see the Foyth/Sess fullback dynamic if Sess is considered an attacking player.
Jose said after the Bayern match that Sess lost too many duels and needs to learn how to use his body better. I take it that's why Jose doesn't see Sess as a premier league LB at this point in his career. I do think we will see Sess as a winger.
No doubt Mourinho ss doing the best he can with the resources currently available but if we want a winger there are far better than Aurier. Sessegon or Son could play that role but I would be reluctant to move Soon from the position he has at the moment.I understand that sentiment if he was going to use him as a traditional lb. However if I look at how he's using Aurier which in his own words is more as a winger then I think it could work. Aurier himself isnt the best defensive rb although he is way ahead of Sess but he loses his marker a million times as we saw vs United and Bayern at home when hes asked to push up.

But if the manager doesn't want to play with a cm3, where does that leave him if he isn't versatile enough to play elsewhere? No point keeping a player around that will only excel in one position if the manager doesn't use it.
The beautiful thing about Son is he's the most 2 footed player I've ever seen, I said on another thread yesterday we've seen the devastation he can caused on the right vs Leicester and Chelsea so I'd be willing to take that risk, plus Dele would work great coming from left to central which might mean we can switch to 4-3-3.
Always worth a rewatch
From the first game, we all speculated that Foyth at RB and Sess at LB could be something for the future.
The problem in all this is that Sessegnon has not yet developed enough tools to deal with the defensive side of that position. So, to keep things safe, we use Aurier as a wing back and Jan/Rose/Davies as the more solid LB. Aurier might be a headache in defence, but he still knows the role better than Sess.
Back on topic though: Foyth could be a good starting CB sweeping up around a more aggressive partner. Unfortunately, I don't think we have a CB like that in our ranks as Sanchez at the moment is looking piss poor in playing that kind of game. So we wait and see what Santa Levy gets little Jose for Christmas and re-assess then.
Sanchez, piss poor??
Every player has a bad game from time to time. I think he has had a good season on the whole. The first half against UTD was one of the worst performances I have seen from him. I'm still not convinced he's got it in him to become that big defender we all hoped he would be.
