£28 million is a fart in the wind these days. Imagine if Piatek could finally be that decent striker we need?

Sky Sports Italy is reporting a bid of €35 millions ~ £28 millions

Whether you agree with signing this guy or not, it would be refreshingly decisive of the club to go get him as soon as Harry is effectively ruled out for the season. On paper he’s a strong target man with a good strike rate and entering his mid 20s. Much better than signing someone past their best for free or just loaning someone, and with half a season to lead the line, he’d have every opportunity to show himself worthy of playing regularly even with Harry fit so that we don’t flog the hell out of our best player as he enters his peak years.

I can’t profess to have watched Piatek but I know that I’ve heard his name mentioned positively for a number of years. Even if he is an inelegant player, there’s always a place for a rough and ready number nine in my opinion, and I can’t see Burnley selling us Chris Wood.
