I think we all know it will be son mixed with a bit of Lucas and maybe one or two outings from the bench for parrot.

Son and Moura will not work. Albeit one game, against Boro’s defensive duo of young centre back and a central midfielder they created barely anything. Put them up against EPL and Leipzig defenders and our goals will dry up.

Regardless of whether we bring in a striker top 4 is over unless we bring in at a bare minimum a quality centre back, defensive midfielder and a striker. Come the summer we’ll need a goalkeeper, right back, left back and a creative midfielder. The state out of squad is sickening and the injuries just add further insult to injury.

50/50 on this one, was fire for genoa, great first season in milan then slipped away. he wont offer something different to kane e.g. pace and running. this guy is a pure poacher, will finish 9/10 with decent service hence the 50.50 of me wanting him as our crosses are not too great. he has a great celebration btw.

Not massively keen on this but we need a striker so I'll roll with it

It's possible that Mourinho just wants a target man for route one game situations similar to how Poch used Llorente. And if Piatek has enough in his knees to go a full ninety minutes and at least make an effort at pressing then it's not necessarily the craziest/stupidest option if the price is low enough. He's not as fat as VJ and has played in a somewhat more legitimate league. He can score from open play and work space for a shot in and around the box. And much better in the air than VJ. So one can't rule out that he could be effective at times.

Obviously he's slow and has an atrocious first touch. He's going to lose possession. But the going rate for an in-form striker with potential and physical characteristics/pace is so high. And then you wind up with a player like Batshuayi in the squad who is unhappy with the playing time and out of form for lack of it but also overpaid and can't be shifted because of the wages.

For me this isn't crazy. Not exciting but there's at least some logic, especially as a six month loan. And low expectations.

I think we need to give Parrott 90 minutes against Boro on Tuesday before we purchase Piatek or another striker. If he performs well, he has Watford away and Norwich at home to further audition. I still think DM is a bigger priority than a ST. If Parrott looks out of his depth, we probably need to pull the trigger on Piatek or another player. Shame he was never given a proper chance before Kane went down.

Whilst it would be good for parrott I don’t think it’s plausible for a champions league chasing team team to rely on a 17 year old until virtually the end of the season

Only watched his goals in YouTube. I'll take him. Desperate now.

He's quite quick for his size. Big and athletic, very Mourinho kind of signing I guess?

His goal celebration is abit childish, the double barrel gun shooting, hahaha. But I hope I can get tired of that if he plays for us.

Makes sense if it's a loan with an option to buy. Realistically I think we need somebody in temporarily if Kane is out.

This probably makes sense. Think Mourinho likes his strikers to mix it up physically and offer an outlet while obviously offering a goal threat. Not watched a lot of this guy so no idea what his all round abilities are like but a lot who seemed to have watched him seem to have misgivings about him.

Ultimately, it's a striker for pretty much the rest of the season and then a back up to Kane so limits us to who can we can target. Other potential strikers out there that could be available include Cavani but bit of a shorter term option but the experience and quality is there. Obvious question mark over whether he'd be happy to come here knowing Kane is the main man here and probably on a massive wage that Levy will be reluctant to shell out for a backup. Habib Diallo is another interesting option out there.....different to Kane, bit more pacey and mobile but can also be a bit hit and miss.
