what's the difference between a billionaire from England and one from the Middle East? Never understood the crying over the riches of club owners or complaining how clubs do it wrong, anyone who owns a club is only in it for financial gain, hell whoever just bought Newcastle will watch more matches than our current owner in the Bahamas does
Well i dont believe an English billionaire ever had a journalist killed and dismembered inside a consulate for criticizing him

Saudi Arabian Royal Family vs the Abu Dhabi Sovereign Wealth Fund. The winner gets to successfully cover up their crimes abasing humanity! Jumpers for goalposts.
For some light relief - there was a recent poll of Arab states to see if anyone like the cartoon series ‘the Flintstones’. Apparently not many did but Abu Dhabi do!

I think you might need to do a bit of reading up on what the people behind this takeover get up to. It has nothing to do with whether they're English or not. There's a massive difference between a billionaire tax dodger and being a part of a brutal regime that are responsible for some of the worst cases if human rights abuse on the planet.

yep, i've seen since my post. Which begs my question as to how this is being allowed?

I guess we just don't live in a moral world. Even countries of relative wealth constantly put wealth and economy over basic human rights.

I read a book on the abuse going on within Saudi Arabia. The Phillipines put a ban on their people getting work visas to Saudi Arabia because of the levels of sexual abuse happening to them. They rescinded this months later once the level of the financial hit was realised. Essentially they sent their women to be raped for money.

But look at us. 2000 North Koreans were sent to Yemen to help build the stadiums for the world cup. It was pretty clear they were little more than slaves but any discussion about the World Cup here seemed to focus on the weather and the disruption to the Prem season if we moved the world cup to January.

There has been a disgusting lack of scrutiny over the actions for the world cup in Yemen so it is not surprising that we allow horrendous people to buy our football clubs if they are putting money into our economy. Sadly the fans supporting these clubs mostly are supportive of the regime for the success they bring.

Bin Salman being given audiences with the Queen and heads of state all over the world shows how moral outrage, no matter how justified, sadly doesn't count for shit.

The World Cup is being held in Qatar not Yemen, which incidentally is being bombed to shit by the Saudi’s using British made bombs no less, but everything you said about it is spot on.

Correct, not sure where I got Yemen from. Yemen actually sounds like a real country.

As with most things in football, if youre throwing money at people they don't care where it comes from. The entire sport has absolutely no shame, as they've demonstrated time and time again.

We might look at countries like Saudi Arabia and Qatar and berate their abysmal human rights records, but the west is guilty for shitty business practices and fringe abuses of human rights, exploiting the workforce and driving people into poverty. In a lot of ways I feel we should probably mow our own lawn if we're going to moan about the nieghbours garden.

But there's still a massive difference in that treatment.

If someone key'd you car and left a 5cm scratch on it that would be shitty. If they hi-jacked your car with your wife in it, raped and tortured her and then burnt the car to the ground then that's clearly a lot worse.

I'm not justifying Amazon's practices, although i have been to their fulfillment centers and personally seen how they treat some of their employees and i don't think it's all that bad. Additionally they are operating within the laws of the counties they operate in and breaking no international human rights laws.

Saudi's on the other hand, in fact you may not the other hand.... ;)
