Slot's buyout clause of around £6million does not become active until 2024. Feyenoord increased what they wanted to release Slot to around £17.3m (€20m) which ultimately prevented a deal from happening.

If true then Slot can't be the chosen one. If we were serious about him, pay it. For once commit to the damn plan

If I say ‘I know nothing about football’ that will look good on my C.V. so I’m saying nowt.
Just put you worked at Chelsea on a tight budget, and we're happy with the chairman buying players. Nobody needs to know tight budget at Chelsea is £300m per window

If we had offered him the job and he had wanted it, which let’s be honest, none of us know, they why wouldn’t he have resigned?

There are enough clever employment solicitors out there to sort these things out.

why the release clause can be altered? I think it is the buy-out fee (salaries of the remaining contract)?

Well that isn’t cricket at all. They are supposed to let us walk in take the best manager they’ve had in decades for buttons.

Bored of it already.....if you believe manager x is the right fit. You get him regardless. The same old we do with buying players, just buckle and find cheaper alternatives.

I am not saying Slot is the one, but if the talk in town was spurs wanted him, then we get him. Even at £20m!! Or are we just deluded to believe we are a top club. We are in a mess and it needs proper surgery.

Well I know what I will be doing going forward; sit on my chair from far and not get emotionally involved with something I can't change.

There's no release clause until 2024. Until then it's no different to trying to sign a player - if we want Feyenoord to release him from his contract we have to pay whatever "transfer fee" they demand.

It's over, hes committed to Feyenoord publicly.

They're completely f'd at this point. Down to widely known second choices now - at best - to lead a "rebuild" under a board and chairman who have somehow and incredibly managed to go backwards in their overall decision-making and competence from the Nuno summer.

We sacked a manager that had us in 4th place with no plan for who would take over, and now we're in 8th having sacked the interim manager still with no plan and seemingly not even pursuing the bleedingly obvious solution (Nagelsmann). The real incompetent, toxic rot at the heart of this shambles is the one person who can't be sacked, so don't get your hopes up that anything sensible will be done.

Think Nagelsmann would come now?

I think it’ll be postigolou - he’s done a cracking job at Celtic and would link up with our new Aussie head of all things football and BBQs !
