We really do have a good squad. Such a strong team and bench.

Could we do with a defensive upgrade or two? Sure, but that team should do so much better than it has.

Gonna smash this West Ham team 4-0

we're boned.

This west ham team is a finely tuned machine. We have a strong squad but in our stuttering state we're going to get ripped to shreds, and they'll do it with a swagger and panache we can only dream about. I know I'm not alone in finding West Ham a joy to watch.

Not sure Ndombele is more deserving of a start than Dele or Lo Celso.
Dele, fine, but Lo Celso? He was our best midfielder before the break and can be the metronome giving us the fluidity that we lack. He's a mainstay if he's fit IMO.

I can’t believe so many people on the internet think they have the first clue what the Ndombele “situation” is.

Actually, forget that, I can well believe it

I know that he is the first player I want to see on the team sheet.

We've a much better team and squad than West Ham, but this is their biggest away game of the season, and if we don't at least match their hunger, having better players won't count for shit.

Yep and that has just dawned on me. Nerves have kicked in already.

I'd actually be very interested to see Bergwijn in the #10 role in that lineup. I think his creativity and passing is very underrated. He had 13 assists for PSV this season before joining us.

The only two toss ups in that particular line up for me are Lamela and Winks. I went for Lamela ahead of Dele and Bergwijn because he not only defends from the front very well but can also play those slide rule passes to the two strikers. The only “DM” we have is skipp and I’d rather honestly play winks there.

What are the chances they keep the 7 sub rule I wonder,
Would love for it to be implemented full time (y)

Seriously why can't this guy get a game

I don’t think he can play in the same midfield as GLC without a proper DM. They’d be nobody to give them the ball.

Mourinho loves Lucas doesn’t he. Don’t mind Bergwijn off the bench running at tired legs if we need a goal late on.

If Ndombele doesn’t get any minutes tonight, I’m going to shit under the kitchen table and let the dog take the flack for it. We’ve grown apart recently after the bastard chewed a hole in my favourite moccasin and it seems fitting he gets punished for something Mourinho fails to do

Not sure Ndombele is more deserving of a start than Dele or Lo Celso.

Neither do I, I know I shouldn’t expect too much reasoned commentary in the match thread but some of the knee jerk comments about NDombele not being picked tonight are pretty hysterical. Kind of reminds me of all the wailing when KWP was continually left out, who’s now struggling to get minutes for Southampton too.

We can all see NDombele has talent. But there’s a reason he’s not starting. Mourinho isn’t leaving him out for fun.

Who's picked for the team is none of his concern, only the results are his business.

Not when you have spent a lot of money on an asset that is not needed. Can't imagine levy being happy with winning but being £40m down when it wasn't necessary to spend it.

Not sure whether to read the line-up as 4-1-4-1 or 4-2-3-1. If it's the latter it will be interesting to see if Dele or Lo Celso drop deeper alongside Sissoko. Suppose it could equally be a 4-3-3.

It's quite easy to get hung up on this formation lark, eh?

So glad Lo Celso comes into our midfield.

Think we'll see better attacking football.

Yep but not if sissoko goes walkabout and he’s left as a one man midfield like so often happens when he’s played in there.
