I think most agree that a fair chunk of our squad ‘could’ be sold for the right offer, or if the right player were available to replace

We definitely lack 2 or 3 things In my opinion

Firstly a shit hot spine - we have a striker and that’s it really. Need a proper midfielder, a proper centre back and I hate to say this but an upgrade on lloris

Secondly - we need leaders - I mean proper leaders that will give this lot a kick up the arse

Finally - we need experience - again players that have actually been there and done it. Players that would give this lot a serious ‘you haven’t done shit’ conversation

Only then do I genuinely feel we will see the best of the rest in our squad

It will be a very interesting summer to follow........

Potential XI Standard: Lloris, Toby, Ndombele, Lo Celso, Bergwijn, Son, Dele & Kane

Whilst some of the others are good squad options, all of them can be upgraded.
Sorry mate don't know if you realise but you typed the word Dele in your post....if you just delete it quickly, I'm sure no one will notice.

I feel the only way out of this for us now might be to raise cash to buy lesser quantity but more quality. We need to consider any decent offers that come in for 80% of our players and it's going to require Levy to bite the bullet a la summer 2015. If that leaves gaps then for now so be it, we can plug some with youth and utility players like Gedson who we've got for another year at least.

Players i'd actively look to move on :

- Sissoko
- Alderweireld
- Rose
- Foyth (might be promising but inconsistency just isn't what we need right now)
- CCV
- KWP
- Gazzaniga

Listen to offers for:

- Lloris
- Aurier
- Davies
- Sanchez
- Winks
- Dele
- Lamela
- Lucas

Keep:

- Tanganga
- Dier
- Sessegnon
- Skipp
- Ndombele
- Lo Celso
- Gedson
- Bergwijn
- Clarke
- Parrott
- Son
- Kane

Successful window would be to sell all the top 7 players, and a couple in the second bracket for decent fees. That should give us at least £100m to spend on 3/4 quality players to build around the keep players and any others remaining.

The team’s got no personality or arrogance at the moment.

I’d scrap out most of them and build a new squad hungry to fight and suited to a clear style (we have no clear style at the moment).

Must keep:
  • Kane
  • Son
  • Bergwijn

Nice to keep
  • Alli
  • N’Dombele
  • Lo Celso
  • Lloris

Get rid
  • Aurier
  • Sissoko
  • Moura
  • Gazzaniga
  • Vorm

Everybody else falls into a meh kinda space where I have no strong feelings I.e. I like Sanchez but he’s nowhere as good as Toby/Jan were for us (which is what we need if we’re going to get back to where we were).

You know when your family dog gets a bit old, and he starts barking at the wall and attacking the bath mat and pissing in the cupboard, and you know you should really put him down, but he just looks at you with those big sad eyes and you remember all the fun you've had, so you decide to put it off even though it would be better all round to just say goodbye?

That's why I couldn't sell Lamela.
I personally wouldn't sell him right now because we can't sell all at once and you will always get 100% energy and aggression.

Lucas and Aurier need to go. The club regressed massively the day we signed them both. And I love Lucas for the semi final but I've always said that he isn't a player you can depend on within a system.

I'd keep;

Kane
Son
Bergwijn
Sessegnon
Lo Celso
Sissoko (for now)
Lamela (for now)
Tanganga
Lloris
Alli

Raid the championship for;
Bogel
Eze
Watkins

Raid Lille for;
Gabriel
Soumare

We can all dream though cause I don't trust this club to have a good strategy with recruitment/squad replacements.

Too many players on people's keep lists imo. Kane is the only one I'd be genuinely gutted to lose right now.
This game has sucked out all my optimism.

Barring dier into listen to offers for I agree this completely

Unfortunately the issue here is that unless we are selling one of Kane, son, lo celso or a couple others depending on personal preference then it's unlikely that a club equal or better than us will want them so the players aren't that keen on moving and we also have a chairman who won't sell players at market value instead he tries to get his estimated value.
Combine those two elements and it's the reason why there will be no real squad overhaul so unfortunately unless we get lucky with another Porch it's back to pre poch era where CL qualification was a dream.

A fucking disgrace that the club are going to hide behind COVID for reasons of no or little investment when we are crying out for new blood.

Whilst I'm certain it has an effect, this club has just built a state of the art stadium that is going to be a money maker once we are allowed to return to normality. Can't the club for once just over stretch and make significant investment?

From Toby and Verts to Sanchez and Dier. Thats a huge step down.
Walker and Rose to Aurier and Davies.
Thats a huge step down.
Eriksen and Dembele to Sissoko and Ndombele? Winks? (LoCelso may come good). Either way its a huge step down.
Apart from that we're really moving forward lol.

not a single player on this roster that is untouchable. I’d listen to offers for everyone.

problem is we don’t have any semblance of a backroom scouting/recruiting setup so not even sure what we’d do with the money.

Levy can see that we need a 1.2B stadium but can’t see that what’s really holding us back is probably a 15M investment in the backroom.

Hell, we’d have been better off hiring Eddie Howe to replace Poch and spending the 12M/year Jose is getting on a backroom setup.

I hope we change to 4-3-3.

Keep:
Lloris, Gazzainga (don't think GK is that much on an issue and we have other problems to sort out)
Toby, Sanchez, Tanganga
Sessegnon (I think he has potential plus HG)
Lo Celso, Ndombele (if he can sort out Fitness & Work Rate there is a hell of a player there), Winks (Club HG) & Skipp
Bergwijn, Son, Lucas (fine with him being Back up for another year)
Kane

Loan out:
Foyth, Cirkin, Parrott & Clarke

Sell/Release:
Vorm
Verts, Dier, CCV
Aurier, Davies
Sissoko, Dele
Lamela

Also, cancel Gedson's loan

Sign:
Sarr
2 x New RBs, 1 x new LB
Florentino Luis, Creative CM
Eze
Edouard

Keep:

- Kane
- Son
- Lo Celso
- Bergwijn
- Ndombele
- Sessegnon

That’s literally it, for me. Everyone else we should at least listen to offers for. They can all be upgraded.

I’ve not included youth players in this list but I’d keep all of them too - Tanganga, Parrott, Skipp, Cirkin, should all be given a chance to see what they can do.

Likewise with Gedson, who is on loan with us, and Clarke, who is on loan elsewhere.

I see a lot of people wanting Sanchez to go. I’d keep him tbh, he’s only just turned 24. In three or four years time, you could be looking at one of the worlds best. I think he will only improve.

When was the last time we sold a player and replaced them with an upgrade? Based on our recruitment of the last 5 years id say we are heading downwards fast and if its true we are on a limited budget then we will need to sign some battlers as will be in a dogfight at the bottom based on current trend. If we are to make any sort of changes the key signing without any doubt in my mind is the head of recruitment or whoever gets the deals done.
