Thiago is a ready made player that will go straight into the team, it doesn't matter who drops out because he improves your midfield and team overall.

Havertz is very talented but he's much younger and I'm not convinced that Chelsea is a good fit for him.

It's nothing to do with the quality of Thiago, it's the reality that you can't carry that many over 21 players.

Likewise Havertz won't happen because Chelsea currently own 20 players for 6 positions. Some may go on loan but others they want to sell but can't get rid of.

Can anyone afford him? I guess now City have shown FFP to be a total joke, they probably can. Or PSG.

Messi may be has 100m clause in his contract. Also barcelona board will not haggle down with messi over transfer fee issue as messi always remained loyal to them like not going to other clubs despite having 100-200m clause. Problem is his wage. Except psg or city, I can't see any club afford it ...

They won’t get anywhere near 100 million for him with only a year left and the big clubs knowing that.
He might be a relatively low transfer fee, but will be close to £1 million per week wages.

I was going to suggest Bury for Messi before I realised how very messy their financials have been. Bury Messi also sounds a little bit dark on second thoughts.

MLS or PSG. His contract expires next year, they have to sell him now, or offer him some crazy new contract which is risky with corona.

Smart move would be to Bayern. One of the best run clubs and their team is so good already it would take the pressure off so he could just focus on playing well, not carrying a club.

It’s been suggested inter is a possibility, but I’d love him in the pl. even if it was for city, it would be a blessing to have him in the prem to see how he’d cut it.

So when will Messi be signing for us?
A few years ago, when I was on the Tottenham board on AOL, I did a spoof "breaking news" that Messi was coming to Spurs. I'd said that his Dad was a huge Spurs fan after Ardiles and Villa came to us, as they were his idols, and Messi had always wanted to play for us as it would have made his Dad's dreams come true.

I got absolutely slaughtered because so many bit, hook, line and sinker. It was only after 2 days that I let everyone know I was having a giggle.

Still makes me chuckle now...

I think that’s the same origin story for a lot of Internet ITKs.
