Never noticed him in a game, cant say if hes poor or good, cant remember him making many mistakes or standing out in matches when ive been supporting whoever they are playing that week

Lol as if they’d sell to us.

If he's not featured in Arteta's future plans for his squad build, surely they're gonna sell him, but at what price if it's us?

I'd love it if Ainsley came and showed Arteta and the rest of them lot what a good player he could be.

Obviously I'm in the minority but I'd actually like this. He's got all the attributes to be a top right back. That alone is enough for my approval but the prospect of him flourishing here and possibly winning stuff after leaving them is a nice one I can't lie.

He's a bit of a utility who has never nailed down his preferred position in CM. He's unlikely to play that role for Spurs so would he be happy here? Quite frankly I'd rather spend the money on someone who sees themselves as a RB/RWB.

I don't see how we could possibly be willing to give them 20 mill, I'm also unsure who we could swap with them that would make sense for both teams. He's tall though

He's come all the way through the Arsenal academy so I'm guessing he's a fan as well. That must make it doubly hard for him to move to us.

If he’s not good enough for Arsenal, he’s definitely not fucking good enough for us. No thank you.

Not seen a lot of him but was mightily impressed by his performance in the Cup Final where he played on the left in front of Tierney. His pace caused Azpilicueta no end of problems. He is seriously quick.

You said we need back-up for Hojbjerg and you were clearly implying Maitland-Niles could be that. But he couldn't because he's not a defensive midfielder.
That doesn't mean I think he's the same player.

You can have defensive midfielders who are nothing alike. For example, Kante and Matic but they can do a job in there.

Plenty of Arsenal fans have said the believe he is a central defensive midfielder. Now, that I do not know but it may be a reason why we are looking at him as he can fill a number of positions and Jose likes utility players. We do need 'cover' for Hoejbjerg and options should he get injured and especially with our run of games.

Doesnt mean I believe he's the same as Hoejbjerg as certainly has different attributes.

So, even though I thought this was a click-baity thing from the Mail -

I don't understand the link at all. Which ever angle you look at it before you get to the qualities or non qualities of the player, there is far to much, seemingly with no information other than what's been presented, to even think this could happen.

The whole Arsenal thing really doesnt bother me but not really rating him does... but if thats what the club wants it is he who they want... my opinion doesnt matter to Levy and to Jose...

For what it’s worth I think he’s the type of player a manager like Jose would love. Hard working, athletic, defensively sound and most importantly tactically and positionally versatile. Being able to chuck him on at defensive winger to shut down attacks coming from one side, or even start him at RB must be tempting. Think he’s actually a CM by trade.

that said I don’t see any way we actually negotiate a fee with Arsenal.
