There were no scripted scenes ffs
"Jose mate, I know its your first day and you've only got a couple of days to your first game but it'd be great if we could have a couple of hours to go through a little skit we've prepared. Can you imagine the #Bantz on twitter?!"

Take a look at this

It'll change your mind.

Doesn't change my mind at all - it's just TalkSport putting into writing what's seen in that scene.
There was nothing natural in that audio, other than Jose's response.

Have the club asked them not to show ndombele so it doesn’t become impossible to shift him?

3 episodes in and the only glimpse is him going up for seconds in the canteen halfway through ep 2!

And furthermore, do people actually have any idea how difficult or next to impossible it would be to script and time a live broadcast to occur at the exact moment he's sat at his desk. Not to mention the collaboration it would need between Sky and Amazon. It'd be an almost impossible stunt to pull off. It didn't happen. Put your tin foil hats away, this is fucking ridiculous, this is people desperate to read things into things that aren't there.

SC is famous for it's body language and facial expression experts, this is taking the tin foil hat stuff it to another level.

I think you're missing the point - people are suggesting that it wasn't a real/live broadcast.

Scratch that... Watching it again, with subtitles, and it's made clear that they are reading out social media posts, which is why it's as monotone and dead sounding as it is.
I thought it was an in studio interview/discussion, which was why it sounded wrong.

There's a lot of stuff they're not showing. Nothing about Hugo's arm break for instance. It's very much a showcase for the box office names. All very harmless imo.

I don't see what that is supposed to be doing to change anyone's mind - the conversation is so unnatural and the inflection of the "is that really the football Tottenham want to play" is someone reading out an opinion as if it's their own, and I've never known anything that unnatural to be on a respectable broadcast.

So, the options are:
- He was watching something very badly produced;
- They have dubbed the audio over the top of maybe Charlie Nicholas or someone to keep it more anonymous, or;
- It is a bit of fiction used for effect.

I think there's a reason why they show things like SSN on all other shots, but at no point do you see the TV on or any visual hint of what is on it or who is speaking.
That reason would be licensing and intellectual property laws.

So far, it's a good watch.

Annoyingly they showed Jan going to Enfield foodbank and opted to not use footage from Tottenham Food bank which featured yours truly, however I can understand why! Enfield were far more prepared and much less camera shy than my colleagues, Amazon clearly decided just me and Vertonghen wasn't much to watch :)

What I have taken from it so far:

- Having met the crew I knew they only started filming the night of Bayern so wasn't shocked to see a lack of early season footage, however was disappointing that the whole 'Poch part' was just clips of defeats and no footage from any of the behind the scenes stuff during that period. The edit goal here was clear to see, make it look really dark and negative and then we start showing the players laughing again once the new manager comes in.

- Levy is around far too much, although he appears a little intimidated by Mourinho

- Found it very strange how Levy seemed completely oblivious to why Eriksen would want to leave and would rather pin all responsibility on managers rather than just cough up.

- Heartbreaking listening to Jan being in such a state of flux, clearly a club decision in the main.

- Dele is definitely just the kid who enjoys playing football, he clearly loves his life.

- Also incredibly annoying that I didn't know I had to be the one to subtitle the conversations in French/Portuguese so missed all of those chats

I have to admit I was a bit disappointed with Dier's reaction to that substitution. It must have been hard to take, but I consider him one of the "leaders" in our dressing room. If that ever happens again I hope he is up supporting the team instead of sat there sulking and feeling sorry for himself.

Then again it could have just been negatively edited of course.
@EastLondonYid I love your dedication to neg repping all of my posts because I mugged you off in the Chris Wood thread, but I think you need to let it go buddy.

"And also, you'll love this Jose, we're going to criticise your football style and highlight your failure at Manchester United. It'll be hilarious, RIGHT?!"

The main takeaway I've got from the documentary was that it made me feel once again the sadness that we didn't win anything with Poch and with the players who have been here for years who should have felt some glory and have moved on or are moving on. Vertonghen, Dembele, Eriksen even Rose.

It makes me sad, however it's obvious why watching this documentary. They're all very good pros but we haven't seen a willingness to demand more from eachother yet, They don't have that side of them that is willing to call eachother out and if there's 1 clip that highlights it, it's when Kane finally speaks up at that meeting and Jose has an expression off "yes finally somebody is going to speak up" Even when Kane does it, he seems to be holding back. I have no doubt he let rip during that Semi final in Amsterdam but it's clear that's what we've been lacking. Be interested to see when Hugo is back and we know that him and Son got into it which is encouraging. The new players we've signed will really help that.

Some first thoughts, probably none of them that original....a bit like All or Nothing.....Boom!! Boom!

* first episode quite dull and a bit end of season DVD about it.
* really disappointed that Pochettino was a 15 minute footnote to the season. Huge moment for all of us, but nothing from Amazon, really wanted to see a Poch team talk, Poch training, talking to players etc, and there was nothing really, so that part of the story is not told at all. I am going to guess Poch had told the Amazon people where they could stick their cameras
* Levy clearly negotiated a lot of control on access, it’s pure PR any scene that involves him. I mean, going on about how he passionately cares about the neighbourhood, which I guess explains why he was trying to move us to Stratford
* I am going to guess the total absence of key characters like Hugo or Ndombele is because they will feature more later on....if not...just weird.
* it isn’t going to be a “documentary“ as traditionally understood is it. I mean it isn’t an in-depth investigation to what happened during this season
* mourinho telling Harry he will make him more of a celebrity basically. Which has synergy with the Amazon focus on him as “leader”.
* the Man Utd game post game meeting. Harry sounds off about other players not trying hard enough....and then they don’t show what other players said in response to that comment. Gives the whole doc a sanitised airbrushed feel. It’s not even half the story a lot of the time
* maybe not surprising but Mourinho is a powerful character and a big personality. Noting that he keeps telling players to play and express themselves...and also talks a lot about clean sheets...clearly a lot of our players were uncertain how to do both
* I thought the Dele nagging KWP on the plane after pranging into KWP’s car was maybe a bit more significant than it seemed. Hinting at problems in terms of squad unity
* Vertonghen veering toward an existential crisis made me feel very sad!
* Mourinho telling the players to be c***s, Son clearly pondering this instruction a lot, and then applying the learning by getting sent off for handbags against Chelea (of course not a word from Amazon about rudigdr and all the fall out from that game)
* I find it all fascinating.but then I am a Spurs fan, not sure this will be a ‘must see’ for fans of other teams
* would have been more fun and informative if it had been in the style of a Louis Theroux’s Weird Seasons, or Stacey Dooley Investigate...
* Sunderland till I die still the best of these types of series

As for the “fuck off” scene, my guess is the audio picked up from the tv in Jose’s office wasn’t clear enough, so they’ve had to re-dub it. The guy talking actually sounds a lot like Barry Shitpeas from Charlie Brooker Screenwipe.

Don’t think they’d bother staging something simple like that.
