I genuinely worry for us in the Europa League Qualifiers & thats saying something watching some of our second string players

Agree. Can't see that we have the strength in depth to risk that one. Or those 3 should I say. Which will then in turn hit our PL form.

Is that the difference between us and Watford, then? Their midfielders are more creative than ours? Which one would you like us to buy?

There defence is better then ours & they actually have strikers up front who can hold the ball and bring others into play, our midfield is lacking creativity for sure but it doesn't help playing without a recognised striker.

How’s the game progressing for our boys? 2-0 down but are we as the scoreline says or is there some positives to come by? COYS ?

I know its a friendly but think this match again shows our weaknesses from last season when certain players aren't playing:
-Attacks focused down the right and not enough creativity or quality from Aurier or Lucas/Lamela going forward.
-CM area is weak
-Lack concentration in defence
-We lack a real threat when Son has to play up front as it weakens our midfield.

Can't wait for Doherty and Hoyjberg and hopefully a new striker and winger to regularly play in our best XI.
We could also do with a quality creative CM as Ndombele can't be relied upon.

It really depends how we play, if Jose pushes for us not to have possession and counter, a super creative CM isn't needed. Much like Liverpool, you just need really energetic CM who can play quick passes, nothing fancy.

I'd still like a Sangare type in there to offer real protection and play as a counter team with pace and intent. Possession and sideways passing really doesn't suit our players, we don't have enough super technical creatives like KDB / Bernado Silva.

I'd rather a really athletic DM, and Hoijberg feeding quick balls into the AMs and being a counter team, especially with Doherty at RB who is perfect for that style.

Love Dele’s tackle as it’s the only decent thing he’s done. I see that no one at Spurs remembered to tell the players that passing the ball to each other isn’t illegal.

That's a sending off in the prem for Dele.

As for this game, it's the same old story.. too many touches too slow to spot/make the pass. Too static in possession. And the first thought is backwards or sideways. Worryingly that includes youth players.

Yea i hear what you're saying but Jose's best sides have always had a creative CM/ one who has a good passing range : Deco, Sneijder, Fabregas, Alonso etc.

A reminder today that, despite our good window so far, the sheer amount of upheaval this squad needs. Feels like we will be short again this season.
