If ever there was a year for something as ridiculous as this to actually happen, 2020 is it.

He's been the one who's said pretty much that it is a pipe dream all along, so if he's heard something has changed then it is pretty major. Even if there is a long way to go.

I'd love to hear from the ITK poster last year with some very in depth and impressive information about any potential Bale transfer, can't remember the name but we were all pretty sure it was Donna Cullen posting...

if it’s true that RM will pay 50% of his wages then it’s up to Bale to come down from 300K to 200K from us. He is a great talent but there are question marks now over his desire, if he really wants to come back and put the effort in then amazing, if not then we move on.

So is it safe to assume this will be our line up?

--------------Lloris--------------
---------------Toby---------------
Doherty------Höjbjerg---Bale---
Lucas--------Dele--------Bergwijn
Edouard------Kane---------Son

Maybe thats the revolutionary tactics we heard Mou has figured out:unsure:
How can you pick Toby and Doherty and leave Lo Celso and Fernandez out?

Two facts make me believe this could be possible this summer. RM paying half the wages, and the Euros at the end of the coming season. Bale won't want to go into that having hardly played any competitive football. Being as patriotic as he is, he'll feel a responsibility to his country to get himself into his best form before the competition.

Still probs won't happen but it is a little different this year for these reasons.

I imagine at a push this deal would be a loan. Even if it is Bale, given the financials, and his injury record, it is still a huge risk for a club of our size.

Would we typical if we actually do finally bring Bale back just as he finally tips over the edge into being slow and shit (see recent Wales performances).

That said, his talent is still unreal and he hasn't had regular game time in a year, so I'd be hopeful he could bring back some of the old magic once he got going.

I'm not sure if you have been taking a lot of notice but...

In the grand scheme of football we are actually a huge club
Our chairman just likes to pretend we aren't and everyone buys in to it

Lol. Chairman obsessed with value of thing he part-owns plays down size of said investment. Sure. Did you think that before or after watching the series you're probably (hopefully?) watching on BezosTV?

Just had a look at his Injury record since he left us. Absolutely horrendous.
He has not played 2000 League minutes for 3 seasons now.

Any team getting him, needs the treatment table ready on day1.
One of the recurring injury has been Calf strain on his Soleus muscle (which connects to ankle) in his left leg. Muscle injury/sprain here, is difficult to resolve long term and mainly needs proper rest and recovery. Atleast he has got plenty of rest in last 1 year.
If Levy gets him by some miracle, he better hope Bale is fit to play in more games than being injured.

From those injuries I'd say he has a classic overload on the down swing. Get him to open up earlier with a more stand tall posture. Will also help to prevent him shanking it when driving over 250yds.

We’ve had this for the past 3 years. Not getting sucked in this time.

IMO, if he does leave Madrid, only United are dumb enough to offer him 300k per week.

But I do think people act like we are plucky little spurs trying to play with the big boys and its just not true.

Well it basically is, because top players want to win trophies.
A 'big' club is one equipped to challenge for titles and trophies.
A 'top' club is one that wins them.

We can't argue that we're a top (or 'huge') club if we aren't actually delivering on that. That's just as much to do with the mentality of the players and coaches as it is anything else - we've had plenty of opportunities to cross that threshold but we consistently turn up like limp appendages when we need to be on viagra.

Bale would bring us some Viagra - just as he did time after time for Real. What they don't realise, when casting him aside, is how many time he's dug them out to win the titles they have with him.
