We're the club who:

1. Lost CL football due to eating dodgy lasagna
2. Lost CL football due to Chelsea fluking a CL win with a caretaker manager later sacked by Aston Villa in the Championship on a penalty shoot out against a German team. In their fucking stadium.
3. Lost the league to a once in a millenium win by a side of journeymen that were 5000/1. And we managed to finish third behind the Scum somehow.
4. Built a revenue generating stadium that was the envy of the world only to have a once in a 100 year event ensure that no revenue could be generated.

You can be sure that Bale is crashing through that SkyWalk.

And in a weird way, that's why I love this club.

When the stars do align and we win a big trophy, what a street party we'll all be having down Tottenham High Road!

Funny how quickly things can change.

Last week we were all looking forward to the new season, then it all kinda collapsed this weekend (and rightfully so). A few days later we're about to sign two players from Real Madrid, with one of them being Gareth Bale ?!

Can't wait to see what this season holds for us, it's gonna be a weird/interesting/memorable one for sure

...and Mournho always has an excuse. He’ll say that Lo C and ND aren’t HIS players and he needs a world class CAM etc. He’ll always find something that isn’t his fault and bring the club down until he’s sacked.

I still reckon he’ll be gone by Feb.

That's the spirit

Looking at more of Jokers posts it suggests we are packaging a deal where we are paying Bale in full, or full enough not to have to worry about subsidies, by paying Bale the 'transfer fee', we will then pay Madrid up to 15m Euro (likely to be 6m pounds) based on performance bonuses.

My Spanish isn't great, so there might be mistakes, but looking at the complete thread the Joker seems to be saying it like this

  • All agreed, deal will be completed today.
  • Real Madrid originally negotiated a 50-50 wage split. LOAN with a 25m option to purchase.
  • Real Madrid agreed to lower the fee to a maximum of 15m euro, however, Tottenham became responsible for Bale's wages
  • Tottenham will pay, essentially, an initial fee to Bale that will cover the wage, instead of a transfer fee
  • Tottenham will have an obligation (not option) to buy Bale at a later point and will pay a fee depending on performance which is likely to be higher than 7m euro, but considerably lower than the 15m
  • The joker then ends by saying 'Good luck Gareth! You came for the decima and left with 4 champions leagues. This is followed by a fair number of similar kind sentiments towards Bale. I suspect history will treat him kindly at Real Madrid.

I think thats right, and I think it sounds a good deal.

Has Bale taken a 50% paycut to accommodate Real's change of mind then?

We need a player that gets everyone off their seat when he gets the ball. Aurier does that in a "oh no you twat" sort of way but its not the same...

Imagine 12 months ago being told that in September 2020 we’d be managed by Mourinho and be on the brink of possibly signing Bale. Not a single person would of believed it.

Interesting if true - but I have no idea who this joker guy is... Would have thought if he really was Madrid's equivalent of JJ he'd have a lot more followers surely? So many wannabe ITKs on twitter nowadays, so gonna take this with a mountain of salt.

Oh wow, so did we win some trophies to attract those 2? Poch went out on a high of winning the league so wanted to go out on a high.

No we crumbled, fell apart, had it all documented by amazon and just managed to clinch 6th after playing the final 8 games of the season behind closed doors.

Didn't we end up getting him from Southampton for half price too? ?
