It would certainly be a big heartbreak if he fell through the sky walk during the unveiling.

We're the club who:

1. Lost CL football due to eating dodgy lasagna
2. Lost CL football due to Chelsea fluking a CL win with a caretaker manager later sacked by Aston Villa in the Championship on a penalty shoot out against a German team. In their fucking stadium.
3. Lost the league to a once in a millenium win by a side of journeymen that were 5000/1. And we managed to finish third behind the Scum somehow.
4. Built a revenue generating stadium that was the envy of the world only to have a once in a 100 year event ensure that no revenue could be generated.

You can be sure that Bale is crashing through that SkyWalk.

One year would make a little sense as it will mean that if things go tits up we arent committed to the 200k a week salary. There are pros and cons I would say. Head over heart it would make sense but heart over head id rather three years
A negative is we wont see the best of Bale this season, I mean he is coming here with basically no preseason and minimal match time. 200k even on a 2 year deal is hardly the worst thing in the world, particularly as the transfer fee is likely to be more 'symbolic' then meaningful. 15m would be a fee that would make Madrid say, ohh we got a decent fee for him, even if in the end we pay more like 5m pounds. While, 200k is like 10m a year or something.

‘Are you guys sure this harness is on properly? Feels a bit loose is all’

‘it’s fine, just be a bit careful up there it’s windy today’

If he just cuts his hair a little, gets the number 14 and starts speaking with a sexy French Riviera accent, my username might just have finally been fulfilled, sort of, at least combined with the new avatar.

2013 - We sold Elvis and bought The Beatles

2020 (the weirdest year ever!!) - Elvis has finished his tour and is coming home for his residency.

Viva Gareth Bale

I swear one person on here said he was ‘Madrid’s JJ’ - I haven’t seen anything to suggest he’s reliable.
tbf he is one of the only 'ITKs' and journalists outside of the club that has been banging on about us being in for him for some time.

I remember seeing someone say that, but he’s been right a few times before with quite a few transfers. And was one of the first to say that he was coming to us to be fair. Also was the first I’ve seen to say Dele won’t be going to Madrid.

The way some of us are banging on about him you would think he was.

I think Bale's last great season will be 2021-2022. Being positive but realisitic I suspect we will see a season like his first Madrid season, a season with good moments but one where he might drift in and out and not contribute that much outside goals and assists. That would still be a very good outcome for us.

Can only imagine this being true if Madrid have paid up a huge chunk of his remaining contract.

I think the suggestion here is that Madrid pay Bale 15m, then get up to 15m back in performance bonuses (expecting 7 mininmum), effectively making it a free transfer and Spurs covering all of his wages.

The question is where that leaves year two, is this where Bale's sacrifice comes in? The caveat being there are probably performance bonuses for him that could effectively make up for it.

Mourinho is going to have no excuse is he. With Bale and Reguilon coming in this is the best Spurs squad in a very long time.

If we follow it with Ings as Kane back up WOW.

If any of you think that the facts that:
  • Bale has been decimated by injuries in the last few years
  • He's most likely lost a lot of the pace that made him so good
  • He's demonstrated a bad attitude towards his team mates and employers (including playing golf whilst supposedly injured)
  • He hasn't had a pre-season so is likely to be rusty for at least the first month or so and likely attract criticism from it
  • He recent record suggests he'll inevitably break down with injury before long
  • We're likely blowing our budget on a position we're already well stocked in whilst ignoring our most deficient area (creative midfielder)
  • Returns are rarely as good as the first time and usually just tarnish the legend
are going to stop be from spending my day re-watching all the old Bale at Spurs compilations and posting all about it on social media then you've got another fucking thing coming ?
