If he has been in a football bubble he shouldn't have to. I imagine he has been tested regularly while with Madrid and the national side. I believe it is an exception for athletes where it isn't like a regular holiday (Kane in Bahamas for example).

Surely they can quarantine at the flashy new training centre hotel complex? Still have access to the training facilities, but could train apart and still feel a part of the squad.

I understand your question though. I have thought the same regarding overseas transfers as have not seen anything official. Only know about teams going to play fixtures are exempt.

Davies is a solid player but I'm not sure I've ever seen anybody a) misplace as many simple passes and b) have a complete inability to beat a player.

Fullback has been a real weakness for us and Davies is a big reason for it.

I believe that's because he was on holiday. Reguilon will have been monitored by Real Madrid, so they have an exemption

Maybe there’s a distinction allowed for elite athletes who have been observing stringent protocol in their training bubbles and elite athletes who’ve been sat next to a pool somewhere?

With Reguilon and Docherty it's a shame we don't have the kind of DM who sits deep like Dier used to but can spray the ball about like Pirlo. Would be such a balanced side, can't ask for everything though lol.
